  1. Pressure will be on Plymouth more than us on Monday. We have margin for error, in other words next Saturday. They have no margin for error. They will be nervous. COYR !
  2. Apart from Butterfield at right back that looks about right to me ! COYS !
  3. I think that is pretty much the message Adkins will have given them all this week. Always remember last time we were promoted I read one of Lawrie's teamtalks - I think it was away to Luton - talked about all the things the players valued and held dear was being kept in a cupboard and the Luton players were the only ones stopping them getting to it. That would be the kind of message I would put over for the next couple of games.
  4. Putting the fear of God up Man Utd for almost an hour on national TV was pretty good. But the comeback against MK Dons was it for me.
  5. The only way Brighton will be up for it is if the players are on a bonus to reach 100 points. They would have no other reason to care but for all players money talks.
  6. For anyone who thinks Brighton will be up for this game and looking to leave the Withdean on a high......think again :-(
  7. He would be if he was still alive.....but he isn't !
  8. Very nice, lovely touch right at the end too.
  9. Dump her.......this is Southampton FC FFS
  10. Thats exactly how I feel, the wait is painful.....mind you come Saturday morning I will be a bag of nerves.
  11. He died on 10th August so that will be around the time of the first game probably.
  12. Seems he had about as much knowledge of football as that red cheeked ****er we used to have !!!
  13. and Barnet will hate us too then.....altho he did get sent off after 30 mins on his debut so they probably improved for the final hour of the game
  14. Funny thing is in most cases its not the clubs who hate us - ie players/manager/chariman etc its just some fan posting on a web site similar to this who remembers something that may or may not have happened years ago - David Bull's article in yesterdays matchday programme being a case in point. I hate Everton.....well I hate Adrian Heath for the FA Cup semi final in 1984....and even though many players and teams have dumped on us in the 27 years since then he/they are still top of my list :-(
  15. Too bloody right, Butterfield must come in for Richardson.
  16. Well looking at the pitch yesterday Carlisle must have one hell of a playing surface cos St Marys looked emaculate.
  17. Absolutely, Adam played well within himself today I thought. Which is only natural.
  18. Oh dear, they obviously are unable to read league tables or they listen to the guy on the BBC Saturday who said something about Huddersfield being one or two goals behind us !! Might come into it if Huddersfield score 7 at Brighton on Saturday of course......
  19. I think it was the fact that they slowed it down, took a breather and tried to play out the final 35 mins at 1-0 which made some panic, not the 2-0 and then play out the last 10 mins that you correctly speak of. I may be wrong but thats just my opinion. had we got a second just after going 1 up and played out the last 25 mins or so i dont think anyone would have missed the point....well sensible fans wouldn't have anyway.
  20. Cant agree with that today, he saved us when Richardson screwed up then wanted to just stand there and have a bloody conversation with Kelvin to presumably explain why it wasn't his fault !
  21. I'll tell you why I think it is - history ! History has for so so long with us dictated that if we go 1 up we tend to sit back and eventually give it away. After watching the Saints for years and seeing it so many times people naturally get a bit twitchy and tend to panic. Now had we done it at 2 or 3 goals up I think people would have been more controlled and appreciative of what was happening but at 1-0 there is always at the back of your mind the fear of the old Southampton way coming back and biting us on the ass ! Thats my opinion anyway.
  22. Its a nice record to have, so well done Kelvin, but he isnt anywhere near the same league as Shilts was. I wonder if he would have been anywhere near this record if he had had Richardson in front of him at right back for most games this season instead of Butterfield. Richardson was dreadful today.
  23. I remember the last promotion season very well, especially a game against Blackburn near the end of the season where we thumped them 5-0. I was 11 back then so didnt worry so much about all the things that could go wrong like I am doing now !!!
  24. Is that it ? Fkin hell, glad I didnt stay up for that.....pathetic.
  25. Absolutely. Wether we go up or not I would offer him another years contract, even if its only a pay as you play deal. His experience could be vital, such a clever player.
