As much as I do not rubbish everything Richard Chorley says, like some do, you would have to say that if Crouch did ring him and tell him that then it was either a gross error of judgement thinking he would keep it to himself or he has done it with a motive in mind !

Lawrie explained it at the LM/MLT/MC evening last thursday. As the club needs the money NOW, they obviously cannot wait until 17 May for the money to come in so what they were looking to do is get a local businessman/company to underwrite the gate receipts - based on a full house - then when the game is played all ticket money would go back to whoever put the money in upfront. Of course its a gamble - if only 16,000 turned up that person/business has lost 50% of their money. Now wether the announcement of this game means they have found a sponsor or not isnt clear.

Oh Christ ! The one consolation i was getting out of this was that i wouldnt have to watch BWP anymore. Possibly the most infuriating player i have ever seen in a Saints shirt, and I've seen a few. Possibly one of the unfittest too.......runs around for half an hour then is knackered for the rest of the game !

But cheaper to buy in Div 1 surely ? That, to me, is what the serious investors are waiting to see, which division we will be in next season before making their move. Its sound business sense too.

Lets be honest about this - looking at the last 4 games they are all winnable, we could get 12 points, not easily admitted, but they could win all of them, Burnley at home being the hardest - Palace and Sheff Weds have nothing to play for, Notts Forest are like us so that would depend on how things go on the day. We could win all 4.................but in reality, the way we are playing and given the league table very rarely lies at this time of the season I think we will maybe win 1 and draw 1, and thats nowhere near enough.

Everything works in a great big cycle - wether its the economy, the housing market, our health, work, our luck etc etc. There will be good times that will turn into bad times that will turn to good again and at the moment we are at the bottom looking up, desperately, for those good times...BUT they will come again, maybe not next year, or the one after, but eventually our luck will turn. You could argue, if you believe that what goes around comes around that we used most of our good luck in those relegation fending off seasons in the premiership, and this lot is balancing out the often very good fortune (and MLT !! ) that we had then. You have to believe there will be a bright future down the line for Southampton FC, otherwise what is the point - we may as well give up and go home now - and I am not giving up over 30 years of my life supporting this football club cos thats too big an investment to just shrug off and move on. Southampton til i die ? You bet ya !!

These commentators on Sky are in a bloody fantasy world. We have played like this pretty much since Wotte took charge, and we have been crap for weeks, we only won 3 games in a row.....that was the blip !!
