I would rather have Dejenpo out of the two. If he doesn’t know what he’s gonna do next then niether do defenders. He needs to produce an end product, that’s what the coaching staff are there for, to help him with that. You can’t fall the 100% effort he puts in, he worked his socks off yesterday.
-
Maybe like the rest of us they knew it wasn’t a real chance given it was Redmond 🤣 But yeah, in all seriousness a game of fairly few highlights you would think they could have squeezed that in.
-
I think its Ralph's inability to pick the best side that will hamper us. Tino and KWP interchanging on the right is a no brainer, even the England U21 coach gave Ralph a clue midweek by playing Tino right midfield. Make the most of Broja while we have him, whichever one of Armstrong or Adams forms the best partnership with him gets the nod.

Tino and KWP on that right side is a no brainer for me. Broja looks the real deal, a tall striker with pace and power, make the most of him while he’s here Ralph! A lot of people had a go at Djenepo and yes his end product is pretty awful but he gives 100% and if I had to choose between him and Redmond then he gets my vote.

Michael Obafemi - Official: Signs for Swansea
beatlesaint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
If they are paying 1.5 million rising to 2 million for a full international (which he is) who has played and scored in the Prem (which he has) then they’ve done well. Given what other players are going for Saints should have got at least £3.5 - 4.5 million for him -
Agreed, of course it hasn’t

Has that fkin idiot Jim White who made transfer deadline day all about him and made an 18 yr olds move from Barnsley to Rotherham on loan sound like the deal of the day actually left Sky Sports yet or has he hung on for a last lap of honour today?
-
Unless it’s been taken out of context it’s comments like this from Ralph that really worry me. Stephens is adequate, he has the odd very good game but then he’ll have one like yesterday. Too inconsistent and his weaknesses three years ago are still his weaknesses today, ball watching being the biggest.
-
Elyounoussi certainly staking a claim, good for him !
-
The Redmond/Elyounoussi combo fills me with dread but i suppose Redders will look good against League 2 players. Hoping Broja features for at least part of the game.
-
This all makes staying up this year so much more important, we could have a fantastic young side in a couple of years
-
Did not see that coming, well played Saints and Ralph made some decent subs for a change. More encouraged than I was this morning that’s for sure.
-
Has to be injured……surely?
-
Give me strength 😡
-
It’s embarrassing beyond belief.
-
So our first choice pairing will be Bednerek and Salisu. I was hoping for an upgrade.
-
Underwhelmed, I was really hoping all the Vestergaard money plus what was left over after the Ings/Armstrong deals would have been used to buy a really decent, proven central defender…….but no we go cheap again. This is only ending one way, I really fear for this season
-
No of course not. Our policy is that of a mid to top Championship club, ie, bring in hungry young players, improve them and sell for a profit. That isnt sustainable in the Prem UNLESS you occasionally take from the top table if you want to stay there. Even back in the old "you win nothing with kids" Man Utd days they had experienced players in their squad. What the hell have we got ? Oh yeah, Theo !
-
I don’t always agree with you but you’ve summed up our side superbly there unfortunately
-
Why would you out source the distribution of season tickets when you have a fully functional ticket office who have had little to do for near on 18 months?
-
FFS its not like they havent known the bloody season starts mid August, they've even had a weeks grace by being away first. Yes, yes i know the uncertainty with Covid but they were quick enough to claim the balance by mid-July, in return a bloody season ticket card wouldnt have been too much to ask. I bet the padded seat brigade have been looked after 🤣
-
Well he isn’t, despite what some people may try and force upon us, he’s 27, experienced now, yet he makes the same basic errors time after time. If he has a couple of error free games people start on about how good he is blah blah blah….. At the end of last season I said to a mate of mine whatever Saints do in the summer next season I do not want to see Stephens or Redmond at the club or anywhere near the first team……yet they are both still heavily involved, they are part of the dead wood that needs shifting!!
-
Because they stated in the forum they were happy with their two keepers and it wasnt something they were looking at this year. Presumably if Forster goes next summer when his contract is up thats the earliest it will be looked at. I dont agree with it but thats how it seems
-
Cahill could well prove to be the on the field experience and organiser this defence/team is crying out for.
-
It will be that formation, he all but admitted that’s the only way he’ll play at the forum Tuesday night. Apparently we have the players that suit that system 🤷♂️
