One of those “I hope this one is true” tweets. A new experience at a different club? What like learning to defend properly?
-
Yes but is this the Harry Lewis replacement rather than the Forster one?
-
What a strange thing to announce. So any club they approach for a player is now putting a hefty mark up on the price. Not Levy’s usual way at all.
-
Very interesting reading some of the others as well. Leicester definitely not happen with Brendan Rogers, Everton think Frank Lampard is the best thing thats happened to them all season.......hold that thought guys!!!

We are an average team who, when everyone is on their game, can give the bigger teams a bloody nose but if three or four aren’t at it we can be rolled over by anyone. We lack back bone and character. When everything is going well that’s not an issue cos confidence is high, when the wheels start to fall off we are screwed.

Walcott had a year left on his Everton contract when he came here yes?
-
Fair point but not necessarily at 19 and in your first season in the league. It takes a while to learn all the different aspects and having the occasional “pass” fired in your general direction from 30 yards away with nobody else near you has got to be the hardest to adapt to.

Was it (alledgedly) Ings who said, when he was still here, that the coaching was a joke? The lad has gone backwards in the past couple of months or so, thats on the manager with this bloody one up front and have him in a different postcode than the rest of the team tactics.

The last young keeper we got from City didn’t work out so well. Better luck this time I hope cos the longer we have to put up with McCarthy the worse it’s gonna get.

Major revamp needed - but what are our priorities?
beatlesaint replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
We need - A new coaching staff or assistant manager at the very least, assuming RH is staying. Team wise - a first choice keeper, two centre backs, if anyone is mug enough to buy them get rid of Bednarek and Stephens. A central midfield player who can put his foot in and dictate, Romeu did it when we had our great run of form. An atracking midfield player. Two strikers. That would be my minimum but I’m not expecting anything like if I’m honest. -
Well that we will probably never know. He had a big say in some of those contract extensions and a couple of those make less sense than the signings.
-
Yeah so all this shite about “he’s done well with what he’s got”, well he wanted all of them. Out of that lot I would only keep 5.
-
Your optimism is admirable sir, I’m not sure it’s an optimism I can share at the moment.
-
I’ve got until 31 May to renew my season ticket. The only other time I’ve seriously considered not bothering was under Branfoot. Even he didn’t talk as much crap as this idiot after a defeat.
-
I can’t even be bothered to criticise that line up and most of all the bench where one or two kids could have been named and given 15 mins run out….
-
Hoping today is the final time Redmond, Stephens, Long, Bednarek or Valery pull on a Southampton shirt. That also goes for Walcott and Djenepo but assuming they won’t even make the squad today. Would include McCarthy in that but we know he’s staying 😏
-
So will they bother to announce McCarthy has a new contract or is it being swept under the carpet ? Not sure how they could put a good spin on it to be honest.
-
Agree, i will be much more interested in the crunch games at the top and bottom of the league.
-
It will be interesting to see if Everton stick with Lampard. They’ve got away with it this year, it’s not down to great tactical nouse that’s for sure.
-
When he comes out in the press making statements about how we took risks last night he definitely is. I would be amazed if anyone could point out seriously what those risks were. Did he see how Newcastle and Brentford just went for it in their previous games with absolutely nothing to lose. That should have been us last night.
-
If that was really trying their maximum then either the manager is a complete idiot or we are being prepared for League 1. It was awful.
-
Had we given that a go we could have won that. Why no pressing anymore? Why just pass it around aimlessly waiting for Liverpool to score? Why not change anything when the went ahead? It was same old same old. Put on another striker and give it a real go? Not our Ralph. Pathetic, get rid of him, he’s lost the players and run out of ideas.
-
It’s the inconsistency though isn’t it. Take Stephens…..please take him…..but he hasn’t even regularly featured on the bench since that City cup game, then tonight, hey presto, he’s back in yet Valery, who the manager has preferred and is no worse than Stephens, stays on the bench. Why?
-
Don’t forget he’s had 10 days to think about this, the longer he has to think the mire bizarre it becomes!
-
The only good thing about that team is he’s finally dropped Bednerek
