I can see a case for useage dropping, after all, who wants government approved weed? it kind of takes the 'cool' edge away from getting stoned! The problem with estimating drug useage if it was legalised is that you can spin the story to suit your own stance. Until a widescale test is done, it would be impossible to estimate whether use of cannabis would increase or not. Just think of the potential munchie related obesity problems though!!!

I do speak from experience, and as much as I've enjoyed them in the past, drugs are bad m'kay. Alternatively, international governments could pay the farmers in south & central america to grow useful crops rather than cocaine. Those same governments would then have to spend less on preventing it's production and distribution and the farmers don't end up suffering (e.g. health problems, violence, prison etc). Same applies to herion production in Afghanistan. I personally wouldn't want anyone in power stoned & making decisions. What about doctors, would you want to be operated on by a stoned surgeon? or one who's just snorted a couple of lines of Columbia's finest marching powder? I can see the theoritcal benefits of legalising certain drugs, but can't see them working fully in reality. Increased tax revenues could easily be offset by increases in healthcare costs.

Pet shops usually have them. Had to buy a couple whilst looking after a tortoise for a few months.

So, consortiums then. Any news there? or are we going to be buried in pedantic trivia for the next few weeks?
-
I must admit, a similar thought crossed my mind. Then again, if it comes down to being the only viable option in a few weeks time, I could certainly do without a summer holiday again this year (just don't tell the mrs ). By the way, I'd also be willing to offer help on the finance/legal/admin side if needed.
-
I'd be willing to stump up a minimum of £1000, but can it be put together in time? Would the major creditors allow extra time for a consortium to be put together? Would the FL do likewise when determining what, if any penalties to impose?

A certain Simpsons episode springs to mind here. If it were true, I imagine 'Lowe's slant drilling Co.' to appear very rapidly

Pouring salt on all of the slugs and snails in my garden may cause some detriment to the quality of fruit and veg. I'm off to Costco to get bran flakes in bulk
-
At least there's nothing much they can get horribly wrong on that front at this stage of the season
-
Bugger, I'm getting all confused with this global economy of ours

As with all assets of SLH, if Lowe wants to buy them he'll have to bid like everyone else. If it comes down to asset stripping, the administrators have to get top dollar on behalf of the creditors.
-
At this late stage, it'd only make a minimal dent in the financial situation. The problem is that we can't service the existing debt. You or I might consider that course of action if we were loyal to a company we worked for if it meant a chance of greater job security. But when have footballers ever been that altruistic? They know that in a worse case scenario, they could find themselves another team with relative ease.

That's pretty intense and would probably have a bigger effect than the more realistic looking adverts.
-
That won't happen. They're employees, not fans, anyway in the grand scheme of things it probably won't make much of a difference.
-
Now they've left, we could have an auction for Lowe & Wilde's seats?
-
sorry, I was trying to imply that the devil = Lowe (blame it on the cold & flu remedies!)

If I understand Window Cleaner, it's not that we've got cash, but more that no-one can sue to wind us up, and we can continue trading for a period of time in the hope of someone buying as us a going concern. Now whether going into admin was specifically timed to ensure that this period coincided with getting through to the end of the season, I don't know :smt017 SSN, like most tabloid journalism, will look to spin the most dramatic aspect of the story, even if the truth is a little stretched...
-
I'm no doom and gloom merchant (don't usually post on this forum for starters), but I am a realist and there's not a lot of money floating around the economy at the moment, and we're only solvent for a few more weeks. Tbh for the security of the clubs long term future, and no points deduction, I wouldn't care who bought the club off the administrators, whether it be the devil himself, or even Satan for that matter.
-
Of course, I knew there was an important distinction, that was in the US. Thank god for the EU and protection of employment rights then
-
My guess is that by going into administration, there is a period of time in which the creditors can't call in the debts, so by saying we have cash is probably false, and in fact we're just running up the tab for a few more weeks in the hope of investment.
-
Thanks, I wasn't sure there. I just remember seeing staff of AIG (I think) being kicked out of their offices without notice having had their employment terminated. I didn't know if that was one of the 'tools' of the administrators.
-
Can I have some of what you're on :smt017 the phrase 'enough cash to last until the end of the season' causes me more worry than even the threat of points deduction!
-
I thought the employees of a company were like all other creditors when it comes to administration/liquidation? They have to wait in line for payment, which is why the PFA often step in to help pay wages in times like this. Of course, when these highly paid players are told to 'get in the queue' they can always just walk...
-
If nothing else, I'm going to try that for entertainment value alone!

Thank you. I liked the fact that I get a special badge for the week I've only played the single player game through once, far too addicted to the online MP part. I joined one match last week that took the best part of an hour and a half to finish, and what's really sad was that I was gutted that I couldn't play the next match as I had to be up for work early the next day
