Pope out for the season, so I guess they'll sign him on loan? Useful deal really, although I reckon Joe Hart would be a better option. Maybe FF comes cheaper though
-
Yeh, those top half finishes with Stoke were really dreadful... Had they not sacked him, they would have stayed up.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
Pamplemousse replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
He's been pretty poor for Man Utd in all honesty. -
I'd rather have Gabbiadini up front than Austin
-
SKD has posted some ITK snippets as well from time to time, he's the only one off the top of my head who hasn't been mentioned yet. There's another guy too, I think he was Kenyan? The name eludes me...

Klopp is overrated for sure. Spent a load of money too, I do wonder how long before the fans get restless.

I went to a Ligue 2 match once. Comfortably the worst game of football I have ever been to.

Defence is the problem.
-
I watch a fair bit of MLS and the standard of defending is utterly dreadful. Teams tend to concentrate on signing good quality attacking players but neglect the defensive side of the game. It can be quite entertaining to watch though, end to end stuff and rarely are there 0-0 scorelines. .

Makes the Carrillo and Boufal signings seem fairly reasonable... -
To look at it from the other way around, Forster looked good when we had a solid back four... It's the defence, specifically the centre backs, that are the issue.
-
Why is Bednarek back but Cedric isn't? Bednarek played in the Poland game on the 28th June, Portugal's last match was on the 30th and Cedric didn't play! Too busy posing for topless photos on instagram...

Leganes predictions? Relegated, Carrillo to score 0 goals.

The only people mentioning Puel are the usual sadacts, Batman, SKD etc, who bizarrely can't accept he's had two successive top half finishes with very average teams whilst their golden boy Silva has taken one club down and was on course for a second relegation before his club widely dismissed him. And they keep on mentioning Puel, obsessed or what. Very strange behaviour, they really need to move on. Best not to respond to people who can't accept basic facts. I reckon we'll finish 10th. Everton and West Ham will flop - Burnley, Palace and Huddersfield for the drop.

I want to give Hoedt time because he is still young but I am starting to think that he might be another waste of money. Stephens definitely isn't good enough, and never will be.
-
Given their past form with charities, we can’t really be surprised. A leopard never changes its spots...

I tried signing up to the new Pompey Online website, I got an email back from the site owner asking me to send him pictures to prove I was a Pompey fan

Not even Silva, just Everton in general. They had a complete overhaul of their upstairs structure but it seems they haven't learnt. I honestly would absolutely love it if they got relegated. Aston Villa and Newcastle are proof that you're never too big to go down. -
Ross Wilson discusses recruiting for the academy
Pamplemousse replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I think that's why more and more English players are going to academies abroad, Germany seems to be quite a popular destination. Some countries have rules where under 18s or 19s can't be sold to foreign clubs, which I think should be implemented worldwide. FIFA, or certainly UEFA at least, needs to act, I don't think the FA can do this on their own. In my opinion, as long as the majority of our academy players are from this country, I don't mind a few coming in from overseas. -

Palace fans not happy on twitter, apparently they've been doing this for years! Horrible club. -
Another dreadful signing. Our only hope is for these failures is that they play reasonably well for their new clubs and we can claw back some of the millions wasted. Didn't really work with Clasie though, let's hope Boufal and Carrillo's loan moves yields better results for us in terms of getting rid of them for good.

Loan signings from other Premier League clubs isn't really our thing unless there is a permanent fee clause inserted. Batshuayi would be a brilliant signing for any Premier League club, I reckon Everton out of the two would choose RLC. -
He'll stay, have a good season with us and leave next summer. That's my gut feeling.
