Indeed, although relegation probably hastened that.

Given the club's desire for commercial growth, I wonder if there is a possibility that the club may look for a sponsor for the stadium in the near future (or are currently looking)? Or would fan backlash be so big that the club aren't considering this at all?
-
Another failed signing. When will the recruitment team be held responsible? We can sack the managers, move players on, but the real issue has yet to be addressed IMO.
-
Tuchel will get two years, both times PSG will fail in the Champions League and they'll replace him. Rinse and repeat.
-
You'd like to think that the club have learnt their lesson from under investing in the team. Not so sure that Krueger and Reed will though.
-
Ah OK fair enough. Seems like he is someone who would know.

Is that week in China and match against Schalke confirmed anywhere?
-
I just want to play them ffs. I must admit though, it was quite a nice feeling to beat Bournemouth, considering how much they dislike us. But it's just not the same. They will be seeded for the Carabao Cup First round, so they have a decent chance of progressing to the second round, where we will be a seeded team and they will be an unseeded team.

He's very highly regarded at West Brom

I'd love to see what he could achieve if the board actually backed him in the transfer window. It's a bit like Rafa achieving 10th with a poor Newcastle squad, Puel achieving 8th with a poor team whose true limitations were proven this season.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
Pamplemousse replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
Looking at the contracts, giving McCarthy a new contract must be a priority. He certainly deserves it. -
He really seems to get on with Mark Hughes, I think they're both cut from the same cloth.
-
They are obsessed with having a bigger ground than us, even though they have fewer fans.
-
How much money did everyone lose then betting on us to go down?
-
I assume he's probably not on massive wages here, probably a ploy to get a new contract. Having just broken into the first team, why would he want to go and sit on the bench again at a different team?
-
That's pretty much common knowledge on here, a few people have confirmed it (don't ask me to search for the posts because I can't remember what threads they were in )
-
I think it all depends what the ambitions are. The club kept saying how they wanted European football - well assuming that remains the ambition, then we will need improvements in all departments.
-
What mess? It's our fishy friends to the east that come up with myths and rewrite history, let's not do the same. We're better than that.

Forget the golden boot or golden glove, congratulations to one Saints player... Oriol Romeu, most yellow cards in the Premier League this season with 11. Was thinking that they should call the award the 'Golden Tackle' but that's something very different I think.
-
I wish him no bad feelings, and he isn't a bad manager as he did well with Alaves the season previous, but he was completely out of his depth here and just not suited in any way, shape or form to this league. I also blame his coaches because they were responsible for us being woefully unfit.

With the TV deal, there is zero reason for season tickets, and match day tickets, to be as expensive as they are. That goes for the entire division, because some clubs (cough Arsenal) are far worse at milking their supporters.
