He'll be fine. He's a goalscorer. I'm more concerned about the lack of creativity in midfield.
-
It's fewer, not less We're better than all those teams. So calm down.
-
Focus on defending because we'll need to against Chelsea. After that, get the attack fine tuned. Think playing KWP over Perraud was a mistake. KWP is good but if we're going to play Livramento, we need a left footed player on the left.
-
We're not going down, don't worry. Norwich, Watford, Burnley, Newcastle, Leeds are worse than us.
-
Not good enough at all.
-
Yup, agree with all the above. If we really have progressed from being a team on the fringes of the relegation zone to being a regular top half team again, this is a game we should be winning.
-
Think we'll win this one. 2-0

Fans aren't happy on Twitter. Seems like they had similar ticketing issues we had at the Man Utd game. Whilst we issued a full refund to everyone, they've released a club statement blaming the fans for not using the tickets correctly 😂 https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2021/september/portsmouth-football-club-statement/

Brilliant defensive performance. Ralph has clearly had a major impact over the summer and we look a well drilled effort, so fair play to him. The penalty incident - at the time, I didn't think it was a penalty, so was very surprised (but elated) to see it given. The replays showed it wasn't a foul, it was a coming together in my view. The defender has the right to try to compete and I'd have been disappointed had that been given against us. The right decision was made, eventually.

Very strange team selection. But let's see.
-
Play like we did against Man Utd and no reason why we can't get something from this game at all.
-
Interesting post-match interview with Ralph. Says we prepared for 2 weeks by trying something different. I have to say, given the amount of goals we've conceded, we needed something different, and defensively it worked. I've always thought that a manager should always prioritise the defence. You concede nothing and you're guaranteed a point. My view is it's easier to fix the attack knowing you have a solid foundation behind you. Obviously against Man City next week we'll have to be much more solid still to get anything. But going forward, it's progress. AND it shows he has a Plan B.

REDMOND IS NOT A STRIKER He'll get subbed off on 80 minutes though.

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Pamplemousse replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Nice one. See, we're doing OK compared to last season. 2 points better off. UCL here we come -
They've got their first Europa League game on Thursday. Hopefully Romeu getting into them early will cause a bit of panic. Think we'll win and actually it'll be quite comfortable in the end.
-
Yup, completely agree. It's a contact sport. Games have been so much better.
-
2 points better off compared to last season's corresponding fixtures

The Perraud Djenepo link up was working well I thought. Still unconvinced on Perraud but he's young and will improve.
-
Let's not pretend Forster is any better. McCarthy is the clear first choice, and he knows that he has to improve to keep that place next season.
-
Newcastle's team full of pace. Need to defend well, they ripped us apart last season
-
Fair team selection I'd say. Walcott definitely needed dropping
-
Time will tell if it works out but at least we seemingly have a strategy. For me, this season is about improving. As long as we're on the right track and finish nearer the top half than bottom three, the following season could be a good one for us with one or two key additions.
-
Wouldn't be surprising if true.
-
Hopefully this week's performances have given us some confidence and we can play with a bit of freedom and get a win.

I may be wrong but I don't think the game will be streamed anywhere. All the international broadcasters are showing just the Arsenal game. It'll have to be Adam and Dave for tonight. Or Talksport
