Funny reading the words Norwich will be a tougher test But it is a key result, today was taking our best opportunity for a win against a team in Europe, Wednesday is the clash against a team that really should be around us in the league one way or another.
-
Think the Northern Irish bloke who presents it absolutely loves us! Nice to have him and Shearer heaping praise on us for the first game of the day.
-
Win and Spurs do what they should do against Liverpool and we will be two points of Liverpool!
-
Linesman in front of me (itchen north) could only be described as a Newcastle fan, several of the mad throwins he wasn't even looking! He was making eye contact with the ref and not watching the game Ref was just ineffective and stupid, Tiote should have been booked repeatedly as he was never getting to the ball in any of his tackles. No idea why Fonte was booked at all, the list goes on. Only really matters when our goal difference is looked at, should have been at least 3 from Rodriguez's goal and 2 more from the Gaston penalties that should have been given (though he makes some theatrics for the first but doesn't get booked which is just as silly)

Great game for us! Highlighted everything wrong with Pardew (and probably why we sacked him) as copying QPR's kick and rush is a brilliant tactic... Linesmen and Ref seemed to want to help a sorry Newcastle out so much though, it felt like 11 vs 14... Both pens were missed, their left back falling over near punch going against us, numerous throw ins and that off side were just sickening. Nearly as bad as the Brighton game last year. On the plus we completely outplayed them, not one silly game changing mistake, not one oh Ba/Cisse are good so let them have a goal and no stupid wasting possession. Delighted for Adkins showing why we have to stick by him!

Lallana for me, the most determined individual for both goals. Gaston was also excellent, as was everyone really. Gazza needs a big mention too, really put a good shift in today

^^ probably the funniest fan board this season (though Swanseas was a funny read too)

Why nuke the whales? Got to nuke something! It's not important, though after briefly meeting him I thought he was quite nice. Most people like to have someone to hate, chairman at a football club is an easy figure as they can never be doing the job right. Never get credit for employing the right people or sorting out the right transfers but get blamed when the slightest thing does go wrong because they employed the manager...

We could be out of the relegation places tomorrow

Exciting! Only downside is Arsenal are conspiring to give every team around us points to make it difficult for us... -
Yep this is how it should be for Pards
-
That is nice some of our lads are on there, though Clyne poached?? Hardly like we dangled a million pound a week contract in front of his nose in december last year and we paid good compensation to Palace.
-
Good, have this mental image of Adkins throwing a chair about in the dressing room, especially after that game. Should have been out of sight before they got their goal anyway.
-
Shocking from the FA, plenty of the bigger managers have come out with that sort of stuff this year and yet they pick on Paul Lambert for what was a shocking decision... I cry Shenanegans! Then again Villa to go down anyway so it's not something to get too worked up about.
-
Well it is what he said when he went on loan to Blackpool when we were in L1 and then again to QPR from the champ....
-
Yeah he's been trying to get Morgan away from having to make tackles because he's managed to pick 4 yellows up so far. It works because he is a really good passer in the middle, especially when tackling is left to Cork. The confusing was all from having 2 players trying to be the passer there and not the tackler in midfield. Shame as it shows we could maybe do with one more midfielder to come through for backup in that role (though Corks record last year means they would have to be young to cope with the lack of game time)
-
He paid the fiver, so skate has that much money!
-
Sorry but Davis and Cork are completely different types of midfielders, would be like comparing Guly to Wotton, ones game relies on being quite far forward to start with and the other relies on being towards the back line to progress from. Davis did an alright job filling in a role he's not really able to play, it was frustrating that we didn't let him press forward more when 1-0 down against wba as he wasn't doing loads but he did what was asked of him and had a chance of making a difference pushing further forward. Having Cork back is great though, exactly who we need to win the ball in the midfield.

I heard zola, vialli and di matteo are all coming out of retirement to sign for us as we desperately need these sorts of players in the squad... gullit will manage
-
And he did an amazing job against us from the bench
-
Legend. First 2 against Ipswich for last season, that magic one away at MK Dons in the first L1 season is the best for us. Was still at uni, got a call from a mate at the game who was pretty much speechless at what had just happened. Football league show that night was on repeat for ages.
-
Good news been waiting patiently to give punch some competition. Thought we had jack cork for that...
-
If any of that's true then we are in for a fun ride! (apart from the Adkins pressure to win, a draw is enough) A little bit of eccentricity is a good laugh, just cross all of our fingers it doesn't manifest its self in him turning into Ken Bates mark 2 or Lowe again... Plus sticking it to Pards will be fun, why he was sacked will always remain a mystery but I like the idea he was already buying a house in Newcastle before the season started when Ashley was scouting around for someone new.
-
Seems a bit of a hopeful article to guess final deals before the loan window shuts for league teams. If he would like to go and get games for a year or two more fair play to him and all the best but, it would be sad as he seems to be a big part of the team generally (despite not being premier league good enough). Would be better than Loach (who has seemed to have a decent FM rating for a few years that has helped his reputation) and probably Henderson too.
-
The massive difference between Jack Cork and Steven Davis played in their optimum positions compared with a Steven Davis shoehorned into something he isn't really good to do... Davis has shown since his debut against City that he is good going forward, just hampered when given way too many deep lying/defensive duties. Cork is a beast in that area which is nice to have back.
-
Well he was always reasonably mobile... By the sounds of the guys at LA Galaxy he's even slower now but still good.
