  1. DC was released a few weeks ago Don't there's much point in Hargreaves, too much effort for someone who isn't really in keeping with new saints singings (plus we have Steven Davis for the midfield anyway). Hope the German agent is Rene Adler as the next big thing in goal
  2. I have my season ticket in block 3 did the same as craigthesaint and plenty of other people saving a bit of cash and moving to the other side of the stairs from block 4. Should be a laugh if the entire block has sold out already! Would be nice not to have 2 randoms every week next to me.
  3. No better than Shteeeeeve, has a chance of improving but if the price is anywhere near the same as Rodriguez its going to be 2 amazing signings and some almighty flops this summer.
  4. Only good if you want West Ham to fall down again... Richardson is nothing special and Gallas is firmly past it, he was past it when he left Arsenal...
  5. We need to separate captain material from prem first team material. Deano is a good captain of the team/club, seems like he is a big personality with us and does all the right things for the club. It would be harsh to take his role as captain away form him, but his performances last season doesn't realistically warrant him starting ahead of Morg, Cork or our new signing of Davis. So he probably will remain a key figure head in the team, but won't be a big player within it. Davis could be the long term solution of becoming captain, but that relies on him really gelling with the team and adding/creating the character of the squad (a big thing of recent years). In the short term Deano knows he's not massive first team material but will play a role, mostly as a captain of the squad. In the long term, someone else will fill that role, if its Davis that mostly relies on him.
  6. He's from Ballymena-HAI! (that's how the all talk and isn't just the stereo-type all ni people have of the place). Anyway, signing of the season for the club so far! Should be the perfect compliment to Cork and Morg in midfield and even with a fairly substance wage wage a free signing is a free signing! Cannot wait to see him play (easily the best player NI have) so things can only get better.
  7. Excellent, Fox needs competition, Harding and Dickson really didn't provide it last season so this should really push the team in the right direction. from the Mail Really like the sound of his attitude towards the move too, very positive about Southampton and the club, just what we need from new signings
  8. Here here! Rabble rabble rabble... As a serious addition I can't imagine a bundle of people "from the internet" emailing and spamming a player is really going to help them or setting up a fake version of them is going to contribute to anything. I can see welcoming a player and trying to vocalise support for a transfer being a nice gesture but in reality as fans of a club we are only the consumer and more or less have to wait and see what the club we support gives us, there's nothing much we can actively do to help (and probably in some cases trying really doesn't help). I miss the days when the internet wasn't really popular some times
  9. Really hope we are the ones bidding for him! Even if FM estimates his current wage at somewhere around 20k per week, which is a lot at 22 (though probably not out of the clubs wage budget) Get Dedryck Boyata out of City's reserve team too
  10. 50 quid says we will finish above Reading, West Ham and Wigan. I don't think Reading were the better team in the champ (Jason Roberts got some lucky deal from the ref at the home game) and their signings of Progrebniak and Guthrie are about as inspiring as Jason Roberts in the first place. They will experience the sharpest wake up call of the prem of the 3 sides prior to christmas and McDermott will be THE under pressure manager come the jan transfer window. I trust the management that we are making the right decisions and looking to take the club in the right direction, which has very little to do with the the likes of Reading so far.
  11. Probably initial fee, Levy seems to have a thing for silly fees for players at the moment, looked a good right back though.
  12. Yep there cannot be a court case as under the rules the players are allowed to reject signing for the new co (workers rights), Green is just playing bully boy tactics to try and get some gullible teams to throw money at the black hole that is Rangers. On the plus side a few decent free's!
  13. Poor form from the ticket office, I had to do the same thing for my season ticket last year, they were a bit frustrating about that missing my email with my card pictured in it. This year for the renewal (still a student) there was no bother at all, sent it out without needing new proof. Just seems a bit hit and miss to who you speak to
  14. Could be part of our triumphant return to the reserves league? The southampton way is now win every competition you have been entered in, no matter how rubbish it is.... -_-
  15. He carries the northern Ireland team and will be a free agent, old rangers will be liquidated so he'll be effectively a free agent if he doesn't sign a new contract with the new company. Would be a good signing, should add to the midfield nicely and give us options
  16. Quality! The faulty bit (punch hitting a cross at it?) has been bugging me on and off for ages!
  17. Got worried for a second Tadanari Lee was back to Japan, but thankfully what we all knew was coming is finally happening. Good luck to him if Palace is his destination, they could do with a hard working and determined chap upfront to compliment Scannell (especially if the pace of Zaha leaves the club). We let Connelly go, who gave much more in his limited appearances last season, so it's hardly a surprise that we can't have him kicking about the place being a reserves choice behind Lambert, Lee, Jay and Sharp.
  18. This season was really hard for him, not sure what happened as the season before he was having a good set of cup runs. County should be really good for him though, they let go their last no1 keeper a few weeks ago so he should get the first team football he needs! Good luck to him
  19. Iv renewed as a student over the phone no problem, they still have me down as a student and were fine to send it back out after a quick word with the guys manager. They are ok with you emailing in a copy of the student card as proof instead of going to the ticket office on the 20th
  20. Quality from the ticket office, moved to the other side of the stairs from block 4 to 3 with no hassle at all, even getting the student rate sorted too. Once they have set fire to the old system and pushed it out to sea buying tickets should be even better (though online ordering in the old one worked well enough for me)
  21. Can't blame them, they need the money more than anything else. Their chairman is trying to drum up investment (like a good chairman should) and has found the best way to market the club in Asia is change the colours. It's sad seeing as its the clubs identity but if they want to go anywhere they need investment, which this is the best way to get it. If Cardiff want to be the champs Everton they'll stay blue and continue failing in the playoffs.
  22. £50 says they nicked that off an internet forum I was on over the bank holiday (discussing Chelsea's massive problem of too many over the top players to allow for decent youth to come through). Would be decent though, preferably with an option to buy too...
  23. All details here http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2795233,00.html Also if you are relocating you can't renew till friday to make it simpler for initial purchases and renewers.
  24. No because there are two teams in Ireland.... The distinction is required before nordy-jones' or the southerners get annoyed at the assumption they are the same. The name Eire only works in Irish, we are communicating in English and look very stupid using a word that doesn't translate to who we mean. It's is more comparable to calling the Scottish national team the "British" national team. We know that makes no sense so referring to the Republics team as the full (and only) Irish team with the word Eire is just silly.
  25. Fm 12 has him down as rather good, real life says he'll provide something our midfield could do with (a talented Chaplow). 1.5-2m is pretty reasonable buying too
