I love hearing players called "bottlers" by posters who can't even show a little backbone on a fan's forum.
-
There are 24 replica trophies and every team has one in case they win the league. Except P*mpey. They've already sold theirs.
-
They'll be the same people who didn't think we could possibly get 2nd place last season bearing in mind how unstoppable Huddersfield were. Every defeat along the way seemed to suggest it was all over. We don't know what's in store over the next few games so why get so down about it? If it happens then fine, get upset but worrying about what MAY be seems pointless. We ARE still playing well aren't we? Scoring goals? We are still above West Ham and not the other way around aren't we?
-
No. I just refuse to have a little cry about it. The reason Adkins draws a blue line is because he knows everything above the line cannot be changed. It can only bring negative attitudes to the next game. We missed our chance to sink the skates after 98 minutes. If everyone wants to let that attitude affect our last games and promotion then they've completely missed out on what the next five games are about. That's the only thing which matters now as its the only thing that can actually be changed.
-
Does this really REALLY matter? FFS if you think that somehow motivated Pompey more than.. Oh I don't know... Conceding a goal and being 2-1 down then you're kidding yourselves. By all means feel down and aggrieved. It was a sickener but to blame some fans is ludicrous. You might as well say everyone sang the wrong songs so that contributed. They came to fight it out and got their just desserts. We just didn't seem so up for it. Nigel will pick them up for the next game - unless someone sees them before the game and gets them to sign a programme. That might put them off psychologically and cost us a goal. FFS. Some of you on here need to take a long look at yourselves and check if you have any guts whatsoever. You may not like fans signing a certain song or running on the pitch but really get over yourselves. There are 32,000 people in the ground. They have other things to care about then whether you're comfortable with what they like to do.
-
So many of you need to ****ing man-up. Yes it was a sickener but to hear some of you give up on promotion is pitiful. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Adkins is a keen fan of the psychology of coaching and I trust him to get things sorted but I don't think he can come out an sort you guys out. We have Palace next. They are there for the taking and a perfect antidote or this match just as we were the perfect antidote for Pompey (we just lost, they have nothing to lose by not going out to win, etc.). A win next game and everything looks different believe me. We had a bunch of pussy fans on here last year who didn't think we could complete our run and get promotion. Learn your lesson. We can do it. We aren't chasing the pack. We are still leading. With Adkins firing them up to deliver a top response I have every faith in a 2-0 win. Then perhaps some of you will do us all a favour and grow some balls! If you can't keep faith when top of the league with 5 games to go then you really don't deserve to support a team of potential champions. Harsh but fair. They can pick themselves up but we all do too. Now let's draw the ****ing blue line, trust Nigel to get his squad in the right head space, trust our team of would-be champions to want to avenge the result and get on with heading for the red tape and promotion as champions.

Surely you needed to write a similarly delusional article supposedly about Portsmouth Football Club by THEIR fans. That would surely be a better fit? "Everyone is against us because we are the UK's most lovely club"

Chambers scores winner for England
Torrent Of Abuse replied to latter day saint's topic in The Saints
I think you'll find we will lend our players to every other team in that division but that local team. Imagine how much they will love having rings run around them by our lads in EVERY game on their way to League 2 -
If being second is great and being first is not all that, why are we trying so hard to get to the top tier instead of being content in the second tier? The Championship trophy is a beautiful one with a lot of history. I would be very proud for Saints to win it and have it recorded in the history books that we actually WON it. We have a history of coming up but not as champions. I think this side deserves the honour for all their hard work. To my mind it was slightly less of a party having us hold up a trophy last year which said we actually finished second. We should aim for first and take our chances. That is the goal of winners and that's what these guys are. Gone are the days of hoping results go our way because we cannot seize the initiative ourselves. This team is good enough to win games and beat off challengers. We reeled West Ham back in and their form floundered. I have every confidence in us getting more than the minimum required to get promoted. As champions. I'd say "draw" as it seems sensible but really I am not that bothered. We are a side that wins now - not one that has to rely on others losing. Champions in other words.

He was brought in because we all prefer a "why did we sign him" tread to a "we're only one injury away from a striker crisis" thread

Up to 5817 tickets for Palace away - SOLD OUT
Torrent Of Abuse replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
You know, if we get enough Brighton and Bournemouth fans along, we might just sell that many tickets. Oh... hold on. Sorry. Thought I was still logged onto PompeyFans.com. -
I'd like to thank this thread for proving to me that anyone can find an argument about anything, even when we're top of the league. It's also nice to think how this thread, stupid and off-topic as it's become, is about a billion times more pleasant than the stuff which used to slosh around here while it was Wilde vs Lowe vs UnnamedExecutiveClique1 vs UnnamedExecutiveClique2. How f**ked up were those days? Seriously? And WTF was going on? Maybe best to put the religious discussion to bed, accept we all believe different stuff and stick to the important topic. I mean, if we can thank Lowe for anything, we can easily thank God, Beelzebub or Mickey Fialka if we want too. Me, I'll thank ML and NC for powering us into position as a well-run, focussed, professional club. I'll thank AP for starting off the nucleus of a club which could win games and NA for perfecting that and giving us a squad that truly believes in itself and each other. I'll also thank SRL and AL for being our on-field talismans, AOC for filling up the coffers nicely and SKD for sticking with us when it would have been far easier to leave and go to WHU. What a professional.

I don't like Brighton either but it would be somewhat comical if Saints went up as champions, Reading in second and Brighton in the play-offs. Firstly there would be the prospect of a three-way "Southern Challenge" in the Premier League, with us finally getting some southern clubs outside London again. The best bit of that would be that P*mpey would be nowhere near - guaranteed to be out in the wilderness competing with Bournemouth, Oxford and Swindon to see who is the 5th, 6th or 7th biggest southern side. Sorry if I'm ignoring Plymouth or Gillingham here. Next, not getting promoted could potentially cause Birmingham and West Ham to go pop. Imagine Portsmouth limping to the end of the season and still trying to find a buyer in the summer when two bigger name clubs go into administration. And at least those clubs have some sort of assets. P*mpey have been playing the "we're a big club in need of help" story for so long now but what happens when a bigger story comes along? Rangers has moved them somewhat into the shadows as they are a genuinely huge club but what happens when a big English club goes pop? Who would want to hear about P*mpey let alone buy them? It would be amusing to see them moved to the sidelines, left to rot in either League One (with further point penalties?) or the non-league while West Ham and Birmingham become the bigger story, attracting the bigger potential buyers. Would be nice to see P*mpey only able to attract the interests of toy salesmen and photocopier traders. Yes, I'm cruel I know

Surely the only discussion point here is "Have Pompey actually borrowed this trophy from West Brom or is it theirs and they're going to loan it to West Ham?"
-
I like what they've done with the new stand. Very compact. Mobile too from the looks of it. When do they rotate the pitch 90 degrees?
-
Can you all bunch up a little bit? That's it. Closer... Closer... Ok, now we can turn off some more of the lights. Thanks everyone. Enjoy the match.
-
We wanted to give a Pompey fan 90 minutes of suffering. It was either this of tickets to see the new Amanda Seyfries movie. This was much easier to get tickets for.
-
Ahem. I think you mean "Wear are you wandering too?"

This soap opera needs one last twist: - Pompey last until April haemorrhaging players and money - We spank them out of sight at our place - Pompey liquidate before end of season. - All season's results made void - They reform in the lower leagues - We rib them that their club has no history now as it is a different club - They rib us that our win never happened so the 4-1 is unavenged These arguments could form the basis of a new, real disagreement which would put the old S.C.U.M nonsense to shame.

You land on Liam Lawrence. Apologise, say you hope nothing's broken, offer to have a mate who nearly became a doctor look at it free of charge.

And now for a move I learned in Pompey called "The Chinrai". It's like plain old anal but your bum hurts for 2 years afterwards.

Thumbs up if googling a medical condition brought you here.

Respect, sir. Personally I'd not be surprised to see Rosie "disappear" as she's gonna be a star witness in the tax fraud case.
