  1. Ipswich should have less need to field a below strength side as don't have game now until Sunday - weird why FL don't have games on New Year's Day as isn't it bumper crowds generally so seems odd to give it up as fixture day? Doesn't McCarthy have a history of fielding weak sides? I imagine Ipswich forum will have a thread with plenty posting they don't want distraction of the FA cup.
  2. Diet's are so faddy. We understand nutrition so it so easy to stay in shape theoretically by balanced diet, avoiding over doing junk food and sugary cr ap, portion control and a bit of exercise. Doesn't sell books though! And often people who come off their diets go back to a higher weight than previous. So said bloke (McKenna)on radio anyway who was also selling a book but talking about emotions of eating. Made a bit of sense although I may have been being hypnotised to agree.
  3. Just seen a chart with mine and CB Fry's name on and with some votes! What is this for? I feel a sense of pride being associated with the great man.
  4. I think everyone would like the ground to be noisier but I for one couldn't bear to be in the Northam surrounded by many idiots with their oh so witty songs. I can muster a Come on you reds for corners and occasional Oh when the saints but that is about it these days. Will happily shout abuse at opposition players and the ref/lino but cannot be arsed to sing all game. Also think there can be a inverse relationship to how great a supporter a singer is - remember the singing lot in Milton Road joking away when we are losing as didn't seem to care as long as they get a humorous chant going and have a good old sing song they have had a good day out. Chelsea wasn't too bad anyway. So not worthy of a thread being started. Anfield the following day was funny. Could hear the coaches and players yelling at each other was so quiet.
  5. Not a lot wrong with the U.S that us Brits will see. Agree very friendly country and doesn't appear the same simmering anger witnessed in many situations here. However there is an unhealthy divide and imagine most of us will never visit the poorer parts. The survival of the fittest/American Dream is great for some but still many don't have a realistic opportunity to break out from their poverty.. I may have been too influenced by The Wire though. Mid-South folks are so friendly but so uninformed about world generally - sweeping generalisation I know but they have no idea that Europe doesn't have same level of gun crime and think that is to our detriment that restrictive legislation doesn't make us as 'free' as them.

Pardew will always be a bit of a tosser. Have heard this story below a couple of times: West Ham photographer Steve Bacon; “When the gaffer sat down with his backroom team, deciding on his order, he asked fitness coach Tony Strudwick what he was getting – and told him he’d take it if it looked good. When the meals arrived, Pards said to Tony, ‘Yours looks better, I’m having that,’ and swapped plates. I told him you can’t just take someone else’s dinner. Pards retorted, ‘When you’re the king, you can do anything.”

  18. I think I have made huge improvements in remembering posters although clearly not enough when I see list of names. I don't even know who Saint Bletch is either but he seems a witty sort.
  19. Can't believe how quiet Chelsea were. Probably the best last season and was New Year's Day so comparable. Mind they seem to have got fed up with their Willian song.
  20. It is all the same feed
  21. I was answering his question. I know the rules but thanks
  22. Depends on the offence. Violent conduct is 3 games.

And only one attempt on target.
  24. Lol http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/dec/27/transfer-window-premier-league-fans-wishlists The obvious needs are a keeper and a striker. Petr Cech would be great, but Chelsea won’t let him go, so perhaps we should could go back to Southampton for Fraser Forster. Up front, Wilfried Bony for sure, and there’s a lot of talk about Gonzalo Higuaín. We need a central midfielder too. Kevin De Bruyne looks good but perhaps we could tempt James Milner from down the road. Priorities are getting some confidence – and a little guile wouldn’t go amiss, too. Steph Jones
