Letting him go is exactly the sort of decision which suggests insufficient awareness of our lack of squad depth by club management. But WTF, as long as no-one is injured and therefore we dont run out of options, no doubt no-one on here, or at the club, really gives a f**k...

Todays Saints related orgasm from the Daily Mail

MLT has quite a sharp self-depreciating wit. Feet still firmly opn the ground. Top bloke still, despite the NC feud and Pinnacle debacle. -
Admitted I got that wrong whilst supporting Saints!

Didnt rate Lallana and Morgan enough over the previous 3 seasons. Thought we should consolidate our play-off position in League 1 and rest players over the last few league games -
Yes, massive period until Xmas ahead. If we continue to average 2points per game over that, I fancy us for Champions League Football. Really need Osvaldo to click, imo.

Tradition of Southampton Football Club : Relegation, underachievement, occasional shock value, lack of ambition, hanging on by the nails, being flat broke. Club Cortese is building : Top 4/5 Club in England, European Football, International recognition, love of neturals, glory-hunter fans in Manchester, strong presence in national side, massively increased income He can call us whatever the f**k he wants. And who cares about the stripes any more, really ?
-
He is interested in his club and is actually a decent player ?
-
Of the two teams, I suspect Arsenal will be more nervous going into the top-of-the-table game. Never ever wanted Everton to win a game before in my life.
-
Jesus, we could go top next game !
-
Completely agree. I simply used him as an example of why the squad might not necessarily be rocketing in value, its Olallana who turned it into that.
-
*sighs* I am very grateful. Anything else ? Jesus, some of you are mentally scarred.
-
Anythings possible. Though I consider it much more likely that his time is coming to an end, after his dross at Sunderland he wasnt going to feature yesterday, and with the international break coming up it was in everyones interest for him to make himself scarce lest he damage team spirit.

Liverpool and Arsenal sniffing around Jay rod?
alpine_saint replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
And probably MoPo as well. The tabloids will try to make it happen. Personally, not bothered. We know how NC loves to deal with Arsenal and Liverpool. -
Nope, simply an argument that perhaps the total sum hasnt changed by a lot, since players fortunes vary, and I've given examples. If its true The Gash went home to Mummy this weekend, do you really see a future in it ? And if he aint playing, his value will drop.
-
I watched him and McGoldrick batter Villa in the Academy Cup Final and always though he could be something special, but have been frustrated by what I perceive as patchiness since then. Hopefully, this is the real deal this time around.
-
Its not just us, the tabloids and punditry-in-general seem to be in tactical retreat. The headlines are now all "we were wrong about Cortese" rather than " 'Arry, what a lad, eh ?"
-
Hmm, whilst Lallana and J-Rod have gone up in value, its hard to argue against the fact that The Gash's value is plummeting...
-
Guessing something will be said by him in his pre-Saints match presser
-
I wonder if history will cast our club in the role of "Saviours of English Football" ?
-
Agree with the OP. Starting to feel a (surreal) sense of pride. One of the aspects of our re-emergence that gives me most pride is how we are the neutrals favourit team again, considering the damage of the Lowe years. The English love an underdog. and English footie has long needed a shake-up at national and international level following years of Beckham narcissism
-
Yeah, was just thinking the same considering the fact that him and Pallister had such a good partnership and Pallister was capped
-
Would definitely be a satisfactory haul. Reckon we have slightly more chance of getting a win against Arse - they havent really played a big game yet - lets see how they do today. 4pts woul be brilliant.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 4-1 Hull City

The thing that impressed me most about Lallanas goal was the strength he showed to hold the defender off and stay on his feet, not the pace he showed -

Great result, great team. We are a match for anyone in this league on our day. I have left my worries about the squad depth and the money we've wasted in recent years to one side for today, enjoying looking at the table. Reasonable chance we will still be at least 4th tomorrow.
