  1. Why, is Hoddle on his way back ?
  2. You might be right about transfer activity; where you and I differ is that I dont feel this squad has enough about it to win promotion
  3. Dont really know where you are going with this Prof. Are you saying that the management need to crack on ?
  4. I dont think it is a big a statement. When you put aside the usual "Saints at the beginning of the season" drag factor, I defy anyone to deny that, looking at our achievements from last season, they expect a more convincing statement from the team right from the very first whistle than we have seen.
  5. This. Christ, this thread is depressing. There is some real petty points-scoring going on out there. I cannot believe some of the opinions being expressed. Our armed forces are in the middle of the sh*ttiest war they've had in decades, fighting a losing battle on the political and equipment fronts as well, and some smart-arses safely tucked up in their four-bedroom detatched houses in Hedge End or two-up two-downs paid for by Housing benefit are sitting there talking like know-it-alls about their incomes, how it is used, and their working conditions. FFS. No-one has said give tickets to servicemen instead of sick and disabled kids. We have enough empty seats for both. F**king grow up.
  6. "salvage something" ??? Bizarre. You sermonise us about our concerns, then demonstrate you have no faith in the team either. I've just about read it all on here now. This post shows some on here really are just interested in the point-scoring and arguing.
  7. This thread makes fascinating reading. Apparently, there is no pressure on us to start winning according to some, but the very same people reckon we are nailed on for promotion. Bizarre. Lads, in order to be promoted, you need to have more points than the rest of the league. Did you know that ? The longer it takes for us to start winning, the more steep a curve our form needs to take for the rest for the season. I really wonder what justifies this complaicency that suddenly we will wake up one day, everything will click, (and apart from the odd Wycombe result which apparently according to the very same people are freak results that not only cannot be avoided, we shouldnt even try) and we will hammer everyone else in the league and this day will happen when it is convenient and with sufficient games left to win the league. 3 words : CLOUD COOKOO LAND. We were supposed to hit the ground running this season. So far we are staggering along like we have a hangover. Apparently, pre-season didnt matter, then the first game didnt matter, now certain utterly deluded happy clappers reckon the first 6 games dont matter, because the team will nailed-on get the same results and level of performance this season, Rickie Lambert will score the same amount of goals, we will magically get the same attacking options somehow, despite having lost two players and all variation from that attack, etc. etc. There is some real delusion going on in these parts currently. We are heading for mid-table mediocrity-to-playoffs scrape at this rate.
  8. And being 10 points behind everyone else at the start of the 46 games. Personally, I think TDD has a bit of a point. If we dont pull our socks up in the next couple of games, we will be as far behind as last season with less games to play to pull it back in.
  9. Thats rich coming from you.
  10. Far as I am concerned, every game is must-win. WIFM
  11. Give it a rest with the Guardian crap, FFS.
  12. SOG, I have always had trouble figuring out how your mind works, but your posts on this thread are just plain f**king bizarre. I really think you are going too far with the anti-NC-and-anyone-who-gives-him-time-of-day thing.
  13. This post could only have come from you. Really, only you. The person determined to see good in Rupert Lowe and determined to see everything with him as a point of reference. I dont see anyone wallowing in Scouser-like or Diana-like grief. Those who have admitted to welling up have done so when stimulated by the photos and videos only because of gratitude and the tragedy of him not being able to see the job through to its conclusion. One thing I have noticed about our fan base is that there is an element that always has to look to be different and buck the trend, often claiming to be more loyal or observing the club traditions more. For example, the sash issue, and now sadly the death of an old gentlement who f**king saved the club they claim to hold so dear. Apparently, no-ones contribution is allowed to be spoken in the same breath as Ted Bates's. Pathetic. I reckon Ted would only be too aware of the impact ML made if he were still alive.
  14. Agree with the OP
  15. Seems there is more than meets the eye with this story.. Coppell apparently quit because the Chairman overulled him to sign David James.
  16. I am very sad that the man who saved our club will not see his plans and wishes come to fruition. I am not worried about the clubs future, the message is clear that the Liebherr family will carry on with Markus's wishes. I hope that the management and team pull their thumbs out of their arses after another mediocre start to a season and fulfill Markus's dream. WIFM.
  17. ffs..........
  18. Man, that choked me up. WIFM
  19. Dont want to see Coppell here. He sounds flaky and unreliable.
  20. I would say that if there is a minutes silence, singing arses off during the game, and the ad-hoc memorial growing outside the stadium, that the fans will have honoured Markus already in their own way.
  21. Bob Crowe is a complete c**t.
  22. ffs.....
  23. Very good, hope you dont mind...
  24. Thats an even better idea....
  25. Nothing against it, so long as its Saints Fans bums on the changed seats, and not away fans. Therefore would need to be Itchen and Kingsland. Are PNE waiting for anyone in particular to die ?
