Seems to be somewhere in the right ballpark. A quick Google puts the cheapest ticket on par with Wheff Weds and slightly cheaper than Sunderland, Boro and Norwich.

I didn’t want it to be true until I read that last sentence.

If you're the best team in the league from mid September onwards, and average over 2 points per game for the last 8 months of the season, you're very clearly not an example of what I was talking about. If you can't see the difference between Forest and a team like Norwich or Bristol City in the last two season then I'm afraid I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain it to you any further. Forest being crap before they were good isn't the gotcha you seem to think it is.
-
United on 39 points with Chelsea and Villa left to play. They genuinely could be 17th, not that Spurs are any better.
-
So a team I never mentioned, which doesn't in any way meet the criteria of what I was talking about, didn't do the thing I said hypothetically could happen.
-
Correct, it is, so I have no idea why you brought them up.
-
Disgraceful this, how has the team ended up in this state?
-
Forest were anything but a bad or even mediocre team. After an awful first six weeks, they got their act together and scored 79 points in 39 games. From mid September onwards they had league winning form and finished fourth, two points behind Hudderfield. By the time they playoffs cam around, they were the best team in it.

Good grief, has MLG borrowed your log in details, or do you really need to be spoon fed the exact details of every analogy? We matched Leeds pretty much exactly across the whole season (both P49 W28 D10 L11) and beat them in the one game which really mattered. There wasbasically nothing in it, if you think Leeds were better then wonderful, carry on. The point is that Saints (and Leeds and Luton) were all very good Championship teams who've made the playoffs in recent years. However it's far from impossible for a much worse team than us to win them one year and end up on the wrong end of a 10-0 and single figure points tally.
-
We finished three points behind Leeds but beat them three times, including the all or nothing game that really mattered. Luton finished third when they won they playoffs, so hardly in fluke territory either. I'm talking about the kind of club which was 8th on the last day but snuck into the top six on GD, for example.
-
We were a decent Championship team and the next best after Leicester and Ipswich. Imagine if someone like Millwall or Bristol City had won this years playoffs, they could easily finish on single figures in the PL and break all sorts of unwanted records.
-
I'm just glad that when the next team comes up and performs as badly or worse than we do, pundits will once again be talking about 'Derby's record' and not 'Derby and Southampton's record', or even just ours exclusively. TBH I don't think it'll be long before Derby are being talked about again. One year a pretty ordinary Championship team is going to fluke the playoffs and get absolutely walloped in the PL.

How well did he organise a defence against a team which hadn’t scored at home since Christmas?
-
Good, the rest of football can now shut up and forget about this sh*thouse of a season. Now we're just another crap, sub 20 points, team along with the Swindon, Huddersfield, Sheff Utd, Villa, Wolves and Sunderland efforts of years gone by.

5 now for Abbas, whilst his replacement doesn't even get in the team.

This is a very serious issue. Did you know li-ion batteries burn hot enough to melt the aluminium in a tinfoil hat?!

I wouldn't touch Danny Ings with a ten foot pole.

For those who must. Moderating this thread is like when they shear one of those sheep which had escaped and was living feral for seven years.

I'm just amazed that on the day we had the trade deal, a new Pope, VE day, nuclear war kicking off in Kashmir and a cut in interest rates, they still managed to get this onto the BBC's main news page. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg4180np8do

Maybe Donny being Pope WAS part of the trade deal. Fair play to Starmer if he's managed to smooth that over with the Vatican.

Shut up Weston. -
Can't wait to see Brevis in a Hawks shirt, he's just walloped KKR for 30 off one over. Sent every ball for a hot dog.
