Those are the facts. The seige of Lebanon was A reason, not THE reason. Bin Laden despised anything involving western, particularly American, involvement in what he viewed as Middle Eastern, Muslim afairs. They're an ideology, one which has been expelled from half of the countries in the region, and they have committed atrocities against civilians from many countries which were nothing to do with the seige of Beirut.

Sounds like you've got the wrong Ian Watkins mate.

WTF are you on about? Al Q and 9/11 weren't revenge for anything specific, they were based on hardcore Islamist beliefs and a hatred of all things western/American. If anything was the catalyst it was the Saudi's choosing American help in defending themselves against the Saddam regime during the first Gulf War, which OBL took as something of a personal insult and betrayal. More to the point, they haven't been capable of anything close to 9/11 since the US coalition went into Afghanistan and blew their arses into next Thursday. Much like the Israelis, they went in and made a hell of a mess but for the last quater of a century it's kept them relatively safe from large scale Islamist attacks. Kind of the opposite of what you're arguing.

On the subject of hattricks, Haaland has just banged in his 21st goal of the season after less than two months. Utterly ludicrous footballer.
-
He made a fresh start at a club at a lower level where he was likely to get regular football and score more goals, fair play to him. A couple of solid L1 seasons and he’ll end up back in the Championship anyway, as a first team regular.

You've changed your tune.

Another driving one; on a smart motorway, following another car doing just under 70. As we’re approaching a gantry, a car speeding on the opposite carriageway gets flashed by the camera. The car in front brakes and slows to just under 60. Why? For the love of Christ, what mental process led to that decision?!
-
Cancelling his contract isn’t a silly enough reaction to his first two months, IMO. I think we should put him in the stocks in front of the Guildhall and shove Cadbury Mini Eggs up his bum.

Two keepers who've cost us exactly zero points this season.

So you’re actually complaining about signing Fellows, Azaz and Scienza? Would you prefer another season like 2008/09? Robinson has played eight first team matches already this season by the end of September, he hasn’t exactly been frozen out. It’s going to be a long season and a lot of players are going to get their chance. Still picks the team, I’m talking about the coaches who train our youth players and know which ones are good enough and which ones aren’t.

If they decide that NO is worthy of a place on the bench for the Swansea game then great. Until such time I can only assume that he has been deemed not yet ready for Championship football. There's no such thing as the BIB at a club like Saints. If you're good enough you'll get opportunities, as Dibling and Robinson have showed. What I don't agree with is the assertion that he can't be any worse than DD. We as fans haven't seen anywhere near enough of either to make that call. Which youth players do you feel they have misjudged?
-
Yes you can. The coaches who've been watching these kids training and playing day in, day out will have an excellent idea if they are good enough to make the step up to senior football. So far the answer with Oyekunle seems to be no, hopefully that might change in the next couple of years.
-
Off the top of my head Tino, Lavia, Dibling, Larios, Edozie, Robinson and Mara have all played for us as teenagers in the SR era. Broja, ABK and Baz could only just have turned 20, too.

Not a clue what your point is.

Poor coaching or players not up to scratch ?
Lighthouse replied to Andrew Watson's topic in The Saints
We already did that with Brentford when they were flavour of the month, it’s not that simple. Bournemouth were below us in the table when we sacked Ralph, not three years ago, so it’s hardly been sustained excellence from them. -
In the same way as literally every professional footballer there’s ever been, if we’re being accurate.

I love shoving things up my arse as much as the next man, but if 'questioning the narrative' involves taking five caramel lattes a day up the poo pipe and dying from lymphoma aged 23, I'll probably stick to being a sheep.

When they have the military capability to do so. Thankfully they don't.

Not to mention THB, Manning, Downes, Armstrong, Charles and Roeslev all being very highly rated by their previous Championship clubs. -

Cheers, no worries. -

It's worse than the PL, which is what we're judging them on last season. -

Nope. They’ve just gone to worse leagues. -
