  1. Fair play, he whacked that hard enough.
  2. Armstrong just has no confidence when he shoots. Needs playing time and a goal, badly.
  3. Reminds me a bit of that hopeless 4-0 thumping we got in the QF by Man U in 2005, except against Crystal Palace. 😆
  4. Shane Long is going to get another contract, isn't he. 🙄
  5. This could be the end of Andros Townsend’s season, not going to help Everton.

A fifth general killed apparently. Is there a sticker album where you get to collect all 20?
  7. You'd bite my hand off to lose 7 of our last 9 games?
  8. Is it really time for the, "yeah but what if we score minus four points from our last 12 games," posts again? Wouldn't be March without it.
  9. All going against Leeds tonight.

As with all good conspiracies, take a half truth and fill in the gaps with your imagination. I’m sure there are bio-labs in Ukraine, as I’m sure that jet fuel really can’t melt steel beams.
  11. I didn’t mean that engineers turn up in random places and start digging up the track. I meant that it’s just bad luck that our trip to Brighton has been rearranged on a weekend with engineering works, as opposed to the weekend before or after when there weren’t any, on that particular route.

These P&O guys seem a feisty bunch, any chance we can send them off to beef up the Ukrainian navy off Odessa?

Firstly there's the needless loss of NATO lives in a conflict which isn't really anything to do with us, despite Putin's assertions. Secondly there's the massive logistical nightmare of having to defend a front from Estonia down to the Bosphorus. Thirdly there's threat of him lashing out at civilians in NATO countries. He could launch conventional weapons at populated areas or even shoot down a commercial airliner.
  14. 14 minutes injury time, I hope none of those Scousers and Geordies have to be up early for work tomorrow. Oh, who am I kidding...

I disagree, I think there's just no desire for any kind of war with Russia and nor does there need to be. A NFZ doesn't really change the picture that much in Ukraine and will make other things worse.
  16. Denis Nilsen, that's the fellar!
  17. 🤣 Priceless! Which serial killer does he remind me of? I can't quite put my finger on it.

If you take wiki figures as roughly accurate and divide a country's military spending by it's geographical area you get: UK - 244 Germany - 159 France - 82 USA - 79 Russia - 3 The figures are in thousands of USD per square km. It's a crude metric but it does highlight one particular issue. Russia's military is far more dispersed generally than any NATO country. They may have a lot of conscripts, hardware and infrastructure but a lot of it is tied up elsewhere. A radar station in Vladivostok, an airfield in Siberia, a missile defense system in Murmansk and a Submarine off Sakhalin Island are of zero use in a European deployment.
  19. I think they’re a bit like West Ham three or four years ago, I honestly don’t see them going down. They have enough talented individuals to pull off a surprise win or two and stay up. I think Leeds look most likely to drop.

It’s as much of a symbol or statement as anything else. The phrase, "convicted of war-crimes in The Hague," carries a certain gravitas and mingles you in with some fairly unpleasant company. Most Putin supporters won’t care but it might start to dawn on some normal Russians who think this is just a localised military operation.
  22. By pure chance there are engineering works on that particular Sunday but not the Saturday. The trains for Sunday the week before and after are the same as the Saturday trains, we're just unlucky in this instance.
  23. Points 1 and 3 are basically the same but I've never particularly had an issue with trains on a Sunday. I certainly wouldn't say they're a noticeable downgrade on Saturdays. Sunday evening is a relatively busy commuter time. I don't really have an issue with drinking on a match day before work either. Unless you're out getting slaughtered past 10pm I don't know what the problem is there.

It doesn't tip anything anywhere, it just harms the economies of all involved. Like Tim said, 2/3 of China's trade is with the West, they don't have to do that. Given that the Chinese government basically controls everything there, if they wanted to shut off trade and have a cold war, they'd have done it years ago.

Why would China or India want that?
