  1. I never know what to say to this kind of thing, other than wishing you my sincerest best wishes. That probably sounds a little hollow from a stranger on the internet but I doubt there’s a person out there who can’t relate to your situation in some context. Keep fighting!
  2. Previous campaigns have achieved all you can reasonably expect from a slogan or gesture. If you genuinely want to help, go and volunteer at your local youth group, keep kids off the street and out of gangs.
  3. The problem with that is that the high hanging fruit is basically what’s left. Instead of trying to reach that we’ve got people picking the rotten stuff off the floor and making a sh*tty crumble with it.
  4. Who is not as good as 28 year old Ronaldo and is very much a freak of nature and exception to the rule.
  5. What's my evidence to disprove someone else's non-sequitur, based on little more than wishful thinking? That's not really how evidence works, the burden of proof lies with the person making the claim. I have no reason to believe kneeling would reduce racism any more than building a snowman would reduce child abuse or hopping on one leg would reduce fly tipping. The gesture may well mean something to the people doing it but I think it was abundantly clear last night that it was having zero to negative effect on a section of Hungarian fans.
  6. Pelle would add nothing other than wages. He's 36.
  7. Are the people taking the knee the ones in the wrong here? No Are they helping to tackle/reduce/fight/end racism, bearing in mind that is their stated aim? Also no.
  8. I've been able to see this the whole time, I never realised you guys couldn't. Watching the sexual tension of Turkish and SOG fighting like alley cats, then 'love' each others posts afterwards, has been entertaining me the whole way through COVID.
  9. Seems to be a fair bit of that around, from that crackpot nurse who told supporters that ‘doctors will face justice for their crimes, just like the people who hung at Nuremberg’ to this kind of thing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-58856068
  10. What if you’re Mount Sinai bicurious?
  11. With the noise we make, that’d have to be the burger van in the Northam car park, if at all.
  12. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-58840076 Why the frig would you not go with ‘pole-axe’?! It writes itself FFS.
  13. Who really apart from the mega-rich clubs can really say anything different? Teams like Everton have massively outspent us since we came up and their most recent league finishes are 10th, 12th, 8th, 8th, 7th, 11th and 11th
  14. He just made the same joke on Instagram.
  15. Which just brings us back to my original point; the average Saints player can snatch a draw from the jaws of victory at 5pm and be in a central London VIP section with all his Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal mates, plus a battalion of page three girls and Only Fans ‘models’, by 9pm. Even allowing for a full hour to straighten their hair and dress up like a peacock.
  16. I can think of one footballers WAG who would agree with you there.
  17. Not doubting that but I very much doubt the likes of Pogba and Grealish would factor walking the dog on Blyth beach or a day trip to Alnwick Castle into their priorities.
  18. I doubt either Southampton or Newcastle, as cities, have anything which would entice any reputable players, particularly from abroad. I’d say Southampton has the significant advantage of being close to London, which is clearly going to be an attraction for a lot of younger players and their WAGs.
  19. Interesting idea. The dislike for Gao stems largely from his financial neutrality in a league when clubs are bankrolled by entire Arab nations. If Ashley were to simply continue as is, I can’t really see it being much different, if at all.
  20. No good news for the Colombian drug mules though. 10 days quarantine with a Johnny full of Charlie up your back alley can’t be much fun.
  21. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58833088 Another step back towards normality, UK red list to be cut from 54 to 7 from Monday. All part of the great, global reset plan to derail my wedding in Haiti, obviously.
  22. Two seasons ago we finished above Everton and West Ham after they’d spent nearly a billion between them. I won’t be throwing in the towel quite so readily as some of you.
  23. I believe you may have met my ex girlfriend, ‘The Watford Gap’.
  24. I literally went through all of them since I started watching: Delap Telfer Hajto Ostlund Jermaine Wright Lloyd James Butterfield Richardson Clyne Cedric KWP Livramento Decided there wasn’t really anyone better than the guy who’s just played half a dozen games for us, although Clyne and KWP come fairly close.
  25. The flips side being that, based on the massive assumption that Newcastle spend their way into title contention, everyone else gets shuffled downwards. The net result being that the owners of Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Leeds and a few others may decide there’s no point in spending half a billion pounds on finishing 12th. If a couple of them stop investing, we’re kind of in the same boat.
