Is the Premier League too rich for us?
Lighthouse replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
Who really apart from the mega-rich clubs can really say anything different? Teams like Everton have massively outspent us since we came up and their most recent league finishes are 10th, 12th, 8th, 8th, 7th, 11th and 11th -
He just made the same joke on Instagram.

Which just brings us back to my original point; the average Saints player can snatch a draw from the jaws of victory at 5pm and be in a central London VIP section with all his Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal mates, plus a battalion of page three girls and Only Fans ‘models’, by 9pm. Even allowing for a full hour to straighten their hair and dress up like a peacock.

I can think of one footballers WAG who would agree with you there.
-
Not doubting that but I very much doubt the likes of Pogba and Grealish would factor walking the dog on Blyth beach or a day trip to Alnwick Castle into their priorities.
-
I doubt either Southampton or Newcastle, as cities, have anything which would entice any reputable players, particularly from abroad. I’d say Southampton has the significant advantage of being close to London, which is clearly going to be an attraction for a lot of younger players and their WAGs.

Interesting idea. The dislike for Gao stems largely from his financial neutrality in a league when clubs are bankrolled by entire Arab nations. If Ashley were to simply continue as is, I can’t really see it being much different, if at all.

No good news for the Colombian drug mules though. 10 days quarantine with a Johnny full of Charlie up your back alley can’t be much fun.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58833088 Another step back towards normality, UK red list to be cut from 54 to 7 from Monday. All part of the great, global reset plan to derail my wedding in Haiti, obviously.

Is the Premier League too rich for us?

Two seasons ago we finished above Everton and West Ham after they’d spent nearly a billion between them. I won’t be throwing in the towel quite so readily as some of you. -
I believe you may have met my ex girlfriend, ‘The Watford Gap’.
-
I literally went through all of them since I started watching: Delap Telfer Hajto Ostlund Jermaine Wright Lloyd James Butterfield Richardson Clyne Cedric KWP Livramento Decided there wasn’t really anyone better than the guy who’s just played half a dozen games for us, although Clyne and KWP come fairly close.

The flips side being that, based on the massive assumption that Newcastle spend their way into title contention, everyone else gets shuffled downwards. The net result being that the owners of Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Leeds and a few others may decide there’s no point in spending half a billion pounds on finishing 12th. If a couple of them stop investing, we’re kind of in the same boat. -
I would do anything for you whelk, except bad grammar.

I like TUI but there are three days a month when I don’t dare go in there.
-
Everyone having fun? Well, crack on.
-
It’s not irrelevant as it proved it can be done. It’s not pretty and I’d certainly like more goals from the team but it’s not "pretty clear" we can’t stay in the league.
-
We’ve stayed in this league with our top scorer being an unfit Charlie Austin, scoring 6 goals; so no, that’s not becoming pretty clear at all.

cUnacceptable inconsistency and appalling standard of referees
Lighthouse replied to cambsaint's topic in The Saints
You might say the refs are a bunch of unts. -
Didn’t he weirdly get fit on the way back through the Championship and play a reasonable number of games? He’s the almost completely forgotten man of that season but I’m sure he scored in a 4-0 or 4-1 against someone. Might have been Derby when Tadanari Lee scored a belter.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-58790840 IF she is found guilty, do we stop going to hospital when we’re ill because we don’t trust nurses?

Tadic was a different class to Lallana.
-
I’m going with the best performances I saw live at St Mary’s. So whilst I did see Bale, for e.g., one season as a championship LB doesn’t qualify for my team. Niemi Liv - VvD - Toby - Bertrand Oakley - Wanyama Mané - Davis - Tadic Pellè
-
And Tella, giving 5 players competing for two spots. More than enough.
