  1. I reckon we'll see one CM in and possibly Long go on loan somewhere. Eight is a fairly high number of player movements in summer, let alone January and we certainly wont sell the four you've named.
  2. Just watching a game on ITV and the black team are all standing in a big, long line across the middle of the pitch. It seems quite hard for the other team to get through, could be worth a try.

    Halloween

What about something which involves going up to strangers and demanding free, unhealthy food?
  4. Go back to 4-2-3-1 with De Ridder, Lee and Skacel in behind Stern John. We'll walk this league!
  5. 1. That's highly unpleasant, personal and completely uncalled for bullying. 2. Seriously, every f**king thread. Have a week off.
  6. I don’t think anything would TBH, short of somebody actually running into the pitch and stabbing a black player. The whole situation has a really warped sense of perspective. On the one hand people like Baker are losing their job because of something other people wrongly inferred, on the other hand UEFA stand around idle whilst dozens of balaclava wearing, white supremacist skinheads shout, "seig heil!" At Raheem Sterling.
  7. Personally I find it too much of a coincidence that a man who is already here doing a job, just so happens to also be the right man for a completely different job. I'm not saying Kelvin (or Jaidi) are the reason for our problems but I doubt they are here on coaching merit either. I wonder if Adkins would accept the role as U23s coach. He might see it as a step down but a decent youth manager is worth investing in.
  8. Well, we weren't the laughing stock of Europe this time, so that's something. Clean sheet for Vokins on his debut too.
  9. No actual f**king way.
  10. Need to maintain a strict discipline.
  11. First goal - Final score sweep-stake? I'll say 12th min and 4-0.
  12. I don’t think the XI we’ve put out would score 10 in a season.
  13. £65k fine for Bulgaria and one game behind closed doors, two if (when) they do it again within two years. Hilarious. If I was a player I’d refuse to wear any of those No to Racism T-shirts or badges.
  14. He made perfect sense really. The plan was obviously to give Stephens game time alongside Virgil, with the grand plan for him to be this wonderful youth player, hot off our production line, to replace Fonte in the middle of defence. Caceres was signed as experienced cover, in case JS struggled or got injured. It was only ever a short term deal to cover the gap in our squad left by Fonte’s departure. Wanyama? Jeez, at least Hojbjerg is capable of actually walking out onto the pitch every game.
  15. If you're going to go, you do so knowing what happened on Friday, so you might as well get right behind them. If you want to make a point, don't go. IMO.
  16. One days wages? Whoop-de-f**king-do you bunch of heroes. They should donate a weeks wages as clearly the training they did was an absolute waste of time and they’d have been as well prepared spending the week playing FIFA and doing their nails. They should give the whole stadium an open bar for the rest of the season and pay the tab at the end of the season.
  17. Did anyone else used to watch the Inbetweeners? There was one episode, I think at the end of the series, where Will sh*ts his pants in an exam in front of the whole school. He then walks out cheerfully and says to his mates, "things can only get better from now on. I’ve just sh*t my pants in front of the whole school, it can’t possibly get any worse than that." That’s basically how I feel now. Nothing Saints do from here on can shock or upset me. I don’t know if we have the mettle to turn this around but if we do it will be a genuine pleasant surprise, rather than just relief.
  18. Fickle fans are best personified by Arsenal in Wenger’s final season. I think they were sixth in the table, cup final and Europa QF at the time and the ground was half empty in ‘protest’. I think the sheer arrogance of that annoyed me disproportionately. The idea that only being sixth in the league was so far beneath them that they refused to turn up and watch ‘only’ winning half their home games. The media pundits actually feeling sorry for them and tragic fall from grace. I love Jeff Sterling normally but he can f**k right off with that comment. I can only assume he wasn’t actually watching because asking anyone to sit and watch that absolutely pathetic failure to provide any kind of bare minimum effort or desire is ridiculous. As if a stadium full of people singing ‘come on you reds’ would have kicked that shower of sh*te into gear. Jeff, that was categorically the worst footballing display in Premier League history, p*ss off. At least Ipswich had the excuse of being away at OT, playing against Cantona, Kanchelskis, Andy Cole and f**k knows who else. If it was a one off he might have a point but it wasn’t. It was 16 goals conceded in 3 home games and the pinnacle of 3.5 years of just dreadful football.
  19. I’d completely agree our coaching is substandard. However no amount of good coaching is going to make Moi a PL player or Forster a more perceptive/agile ‘keeper.
  20. Yes, winning every week gives you confidence and you play better in other games. Why do you think Premier League strugglers keep getting knocked out of cups by a team top of League 1? If Forster had gone to Wolves or Moi to Newcastle, they wouldn’t be playing well there either.
  21. Aurier was all over the place and Mané got there in front of him. It was clumsy as heck and I’m sure Aurier was only trying to clear the ball but he didn’t. Since when has, ‘he didn’t mean to do it’ ever been an excuse for a foul?
  22. Definite penalty, don’t know what game some of you are watching. He literally booted Mané in the back of the calf, no maybe about it.
  23. Nothing to do with Ajax and Celtic doing the football equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel? It’s easy to look creative when you’re taking on defenders as good as Bennett, Lancashire and Davenport every week.
  24. They were decent saves but straight at him at head height. Nothing overly special really. I guess our standards are just that much lower watching our recent selection of ‘keepers.
