I think a clearer distinction needs to be made between the Twitter abuse directed at Pogba and Rashford, the occasional idiots in the English game and the ingrained, institutional abuse in Italy and Eastern Europe. The first two we can do little about. There will always be c**ts in the world and football is no exception. The message is out there, if people still aren't getting it then it's a Police matter. The latter needs to be tackled harder by UEFA and the respective FAs. If it continues, ban the whole country from the Champions League for a couple of years and the nation from one major tournament. It's the only thing these people will understand. Telling some Russian Nazi he isn't very nice and giving players a nice badge to wear isn't going to change anything.

The Saints OS quiz - to pass the time before the Blades game
Lighthouse replied to John Boy Saint's topic in The Saints
27. Missed two who were Prem a while ago, which I should have guessed and one lower league cup opponent. -
Play the reserves IMO.
-
No he doesn’t, it’s a ridiculous thing to say. There’s not one Pompey player or their manager who’d get into our match day 18. I’m not saying we’ll win for certain but thinking we are guaranteed to lose is just silly.
-
I think when it comes to the most mental I’ve ever gone at a game, Lambert’s goal at Fratton is right up there with Gabbi at Wembley.
-
Aaaahhh, that takes me back to my college days.
-
The problem with that is that every dodgy local business man and his dog will be buying clubs, bleeding them dry and going begging to the big clubs for 'just a couple of million' to keep them going.

Everything is a sex toy if you're adventurous enough, so your statement encompasses quite a lot of adverts.

I wouldn't say the razor was blunt, more like he missed his face completely and dropped it in the bog.

That article has been updated - Bolton have been given another 14 days for some reason.
-
Looks like we're taking it seriously this year. Fingers crossed on the injuries.

Long misses an absolute sitter. But he puts a shift in and is a nightmare for defenders or whatever....
-
On here please. Attacking looking line up. Let's hope some of the fringe players can give Ralph a headache for Saturday.
-
I don't follow. What would that have to do with Bertrand supposedly being upset by a tactical sub?
-
Still seems odd that he’d be upset by that. Taking a defender off for an attacker with 15 minutes left in a game we’re losing, pretty standard to me.
-
Looks like he’s not in the 18. Looking at that team, JWP at RB and Cédric LB?
-
He started and played 77 minutes against Liverpool.

How sad is it that when I saw that story on BBC news, my first thought was, 'this is going to start something on SaintsWeb.'

I still think Newcastle will be in trouble. Bruce is a competent manager but no Benitez and they lack any real depth of talent. Haven't been particularly impressed by any of the promoted sides yet. For all the praise of Norwich, they ship goals in like Singapore harbour. Palace and Brighton will be down there too.
-
I can see the logic in what he was thinking; we weren't going down or making Europe so nothing to lose by giving Stephens half a season of decent experience. If he struggles, we have an experienced international on a 6 month deal as cover. Where he went laughably wrong is in thinking Stephens had anything like the ability to replace Fonte.
-
Without looking I'm going to guess Matip and Van Arnholt are also in there, having scored a goal.
-
Austin was worth a punt, Caceres was only ever brought in as emergency cover for Stephens, so it was little surprise he didn’t play. I think in Les’ mind JS was the next great youth team success story and a natural replacement for Fonte. I’m more annoyed at selling our captain in January, without actually bringing anyone else in, which lead to us needing Caceres in the first place, as opposed to him as a player. Djuricic and Elia were just that - filler. I don’t feel they really added anything, apart from EE in one game at Newcastle.

Ben Stokes is Superman, the umpires are cr@p
Lighthouse replied to badgerx16's topic in General Sports
If the Sun don't run the headline, 'Jack and the Ben Stokes' I'll be disappointed. Amazing innings. -
TBF, when you look at who we've brought in in January since promotion, I'm probably okay with that; Forren, Djuricic, Elia, Carrillo, Austin and Caceres. Only Gabbi really made par. I will forever love him for that day out at Wembley but he didn't really set the league alight.

And again on Kane WTF?!
