  1. If I had to choose between Boufal and Lemina, one to sell and one to give another chance, I’d keep Lemina. I think without him we’re weak in central midfield. JWP doesn’t cover the same amount of ground, Slattery is completely unproven and Armstrong looks substandard to me.
  2. Good luck to him, I’m sure he’ll give Villa 100%. If this has basically paid for Adams then that’s very good business IMO. Was worried for a bit that MT was going to be our first choice next season, with Vokins as backup. Thankfully I’d say we’ve got it right and look forward to seeing JV in the cups.
  3. I was being sarcastic.
  4. Plus the fact that he’s always retweeting people who blow smoke up his arse about how ITK he is, not to mention his own posts with a, "hey look, I posted this 3 days ago, I was right!" Subtext. I can buy a couple of agents giving one of their ‘retired’ colleagues a couple of bits of gossip about a handful of transfers but this guy seems to be the first port of call for every top agent in European football. Fancy that. He’s also complaining that nobody in the media gives him credit for his ‘information’.
  5. I was referring to the team we had when we finished 6th, rather than a pick and mix. If I was doing that, I’d probably add a Finnish ‘keeper, Belgian CB and Latvian striker too.
  6. He isn’t doing well though, he’s a bit part player in a club fighting relegation. Besides, if he leaves it gives an opportunity to another academy player. I don’t buy the second bit either, our strongest team in Premier League history is: Durham Portugal The Netherlands Portugal London Kenya Spain Senegal N. Ireland Serbia Italy
  7. There's been no mention of Sheff Utd interest or an £8m bid before before, so this is an interesting development.
  8. They aren’t boo boys. It’s just that many people have noticed the obvious deficiencies to his game. I’m sure every Saints fan wishes him well but if we don’t want a third consecutive relegation battle, we’re going to need better players than Targett.

Why is criticism always taken as 'being written off'? A small number of people are concerned as to how well he strikes a ball and whether he can make the step up. Seems reasonable enough, nobody is saying he will never make it.
  10. I’d like a CB, RB and ST. I doubt we’ll get another striker but given choice I’d get rid of Long, Austin and Guido.
  11. Jozy Altidore and Bosko Balaban are also 'Premier League players'. Even in a poor Saints team, he has looked like a weakness whenever I've seen him.
  12. Worth digging out for entertainment value. Some crackers in here.
  13. I'm still amazed that in the 21st century, when they're asking for upwards of £50 per shirt, they still can't do better than a cheap bit of glued on vinyl, which will no doubt tear, flake and peel after about three games/washes. The Friends Provident logos were all fine, why can't we have something like that?
  14. I still don't think he's a Premier League player, so I'll be pretty happy if this goes through.
  15. 2 League goals last season and one of those was on an empty pitch when Spurs were already halfway down the tunnel.

  17. Cameras can determine offside better than a human eye, that’s all that matters here. It’s not infallible but it’s an improvement. Personally I think the line on the screen should include a 6 inch buffer zone behind the defender; any body part within that doesn’t count as offside.
  18. Okay shhhhhhh! Nobody tell them.
  19. Where are you guys getting this from? Everything I’ve read so far suggests we have bid £14m and they’re holding out for more.
  20. Anything said about Tadic in hindsight isn’t really relevant. There’s no way on Earth he’d have had the season he’s just had if he had stayed. He is playing in well managed, winning team in a weak league and has found a new lease of life which he has carried through into the Champions League. If he’d stayed here, he probably would have four goals, a couple of missed pens and just be stinking out the dressing room because he didn’t get to leave. Moi I thought was useless from the first preseason game I saw him in and he’s done nothing whatsoever to change my mind.
  21. Leicester may want more than we got for Van Dijk but they won’t get it. Most reports in today’s media are saying something in the £65m region, which is about what you might expect considering he is English.
  22. He was 30, had been playing below his best for a while and wanted to go back to NL. It was either that offer (which is probably nearer £12m when all the clauses have paid out) or keep him here against his will until his contract ran out. Seems sensible to me, we're only having this discussion because Moi has turned out to be utterly useless.
  23. I’d take £8m, he only has two years left on his contract and he would go for even less next season or free the year after. If he was that decent we’d have more and better offers.
  24. I've still yet to see any reasonable explanation as to why people think this. A ref giving into pressure, making a split second decision at OT is one thing but I don't see why an official in a quiet room, watching a replay 3 times from different angles would deliberately favour the 'bigger' team.
  25. I wasn’t including Vince in those wickets, that’s already a given.
