  1. He struggled as a teenage debutant playing in the second worst team in the history of the PL but undoubtedly has talent. Now he's leaving to play in a better team, no doubt for a pretty substantial pay rise. I've seen absolutely nothing about him to suggest that he is acting 'billy big bollocks'. There's nothing to get all precious about here, he's leaving because he has potential far above Championship level, as we always knew he would. He's no different to Walcott, Bale, AOC, Lavia, Livramento and Kenwyne, although the latter was an absolute helmet, granted.
  2. We’ve got the best plugs, by which I mean the electrical variety. If you want sink plugs or butt plugs, go to Slovakia and Equatorial Guinea, respectively.
  3. I can’t see either party wanting to activate a one year extension clause. I’ve no idea what the details are, either of his contract or the loan deal with Nantes, all I know is I hope his is the last we hear of the useless waste of a squad number.
  4. We're enthusiastic because Sugawara is hopeless, Bree is mediocre, even in the Championship, and this bloke seems to have DAJF Brentford getting promoted from this division.
  5. I'd hope so, might give us the option of going straight to a back four and moving Fraser forward. Baz Maddy THB Quarshie Wely Downes Charles Fraser MF Robinson Striker tombola
  6. Merchandise idea; a T-shirt featuring Roerslev dressed up like one of the Gallagher brothers and the caption, ‘Mads for it!’
  7. We were in a relegation scrap last year and let Shea Charles go out on loan, is he sh*te? I know little about this guy but on the face of it, he looks a solid RB for this level with just the right balance of youth versus experience. I’m not sure I quite get this negativity.
  8. What? Having two solid players in every position is pretty much the cornerstone of building any decent squad. If Bree and Mads both get injured, we’ll just have to fill in with someone else, same as we did if Richardson and Butterfield or Cedric and Martina both got injured simultaneously.
  9. Yep, just as I suspected last week. *Runs to Wikipedia*

  11. I think I was supposed to be playing CB, shows how sh*t my positioning was. I think it was the WBA fans game they didn’t turn up for.
  12. They didn’t get him for peanuts. £7m for a Championship LB back then was a very good price.
  13. I still think our squad is light a Jehovah’s Witness or two but otherwise I agree.
  14. I fundamentally believe that any player we bring in should be able to play 90 minutes more often than not. If Downes or Charles picks up my injury for a month or two, how is a guy who’s only fit enough for half an hour here and there any use? I don’t know to what extent his legs are gone, he was never the most mobile in his prime, but I just can’t envisage him bringing ‘freshness’ to any team.
  15. If that’s the case then so be it, but his replacement really shouldn’t be this year’s, "great lad in the dressing room," nostalgia option, which seems to crop up every transfer window.
  16. Romeu is 34 next month and was mostly used as a late sub in the second half of last season. I’ve no idea why some people are so keen on repeating the Walcott/Lallana mistake time after time. He did well for us but he’s the past, move on. We’re fine in CM with Downes, Charles, Smallbone and whoever replaces MF.
  17. Smart motorways which seem to just pick random speed limits for no reason. I was coming around the M25 last night - 50 40 60 40 40 50 60 40 50 and not so much as a traffic cone or a single car on the hard shoulder or anywhere else.
  18. Adams and Mara scored 19 between them. I am fairly sure Downs, Archer and Stewart are capable of that, combined, and I'm not even expecting BBD to stick around.
  19. Adams scored 16 goals, which is hardly Mitrovic territory, and we should comfortably be able to replace. In spite of that we still got promoted scoring 91 goals. Our problem last time was defence. If you're expecting better strikers than we have, you're going to be disappointed. We have neither the need nor the budget.
  20. We got promoted last time with Adams and Mara as our strikers and the problem was defence. There're more than enough goals in the collection of strikers we have.
  21. The BIB we've already agreeed on. We have smallbone in CM, I doubt we'll be getting an extra option as well as a MF replacement. Likewise I can't see us replacing Dibling AND getting another winger, let alone two. We have Fraser and Robinson already, plus supporting strikers who can play deeper and wider. We aren't getting another forward either, unless about three of our current options leave. We have Stewart, Archer, Downs, BBD and AA, which is probably the strongest collection of forwards in the league.
  22. I know Farmer was joking but we genuinely did build a pretty solid Championship squad last summer. We need a creative midfielder, a RB and a replacement for MF if he leaves. Apart from that our squad looks in pretty good shape. I'm not sure what else you expect the club to have done. We've clearly identified the likes of Rudoni and Spertsyan and are working on deals for them. Don't foget our best period in the last forty years began with Mane and Toby both being signed on deadline day.
  23. What make you think we're unprepared? We seem to be doing fairly well for our part, having identified targets in key areas and targets and brought in a couple of decent-ish looking prospects. No amount of preparation is going to hurry other clubs, players and their agents into the deals we want, when either buying or selling.
  24. Guys, this is all my fault. I tried to order a new Bearsy from Temu.
  25. Hopefully he brings creative talents to the table but his career scoring record is underwhelming.
