  1. I think Hoj has received less stick because 1 - He isn't perceived as Mané's replacement 2 - he came from Bayern and not Norwich and is seen as a more ambitious signing. 3 - unlike Redmond, he has been far from ever present in the team. 4 - he doesn't play so far forward and the expectation of him to provide goals is less. 5 - he didn't arrive as a known Premier League entity with an average to poor reputation. None the less, most people who've watched us regularly have noted his poor form of late.
  2. Both games against Arsenal Man City away Sparta home West Ham away Swansea home Everton home Inter... eventually All decent performances
  3. If we bet them 6-0, I for one still won't forget that garbage last night. Would just prove to me how ridiculous playing for a 0-0 really was.
  4. Supposing Shane Long had managed 4 goals, against Watford, Sunderland, Leicester and Hapoel for example. Not an extraordinary stretch of the imagination. We'd currently be 6th and still in Europa. I think that's the problem. We would have planned on a few more goals from Long and, to a lesser extent maybe, Boufal and Rodriguez. It's not that we're a striker light, it's just that too many that we have aren't performing. I wouldn't be upset to se JR and Long both leave, if we got someone in who was physical and knew where the net was.
  5. To what extent these pundits actually watch the full 95 minutes in complete detail, between full time at 5pm and MOTD at 10.30pm I'm not sure. Especially when they have 5 or 6 full games to watch. I've seen many a highlights package when certain players did indeed look a lot better than they were.
  6. Two dull teams who struggle to score. 4-4 it is then.
  7. Nothing wrong with Sunderland and Watford. We were adapting to a new system, played much the better football and got a reasonable enough draw. You would hope for a win but then so would Man City against us at the Etihad. Nothing wrong with Chelsea or Liverpool. We got a point against an inform Liverpool (although some would have preferred to go out all guns blazing, as if we wouldn't just get spanked 4-1) and Chelsea were just that good. Beat us 2-0 in between beating Utd 4-0 and Everton 5-0, fair play. The 4 Europa games we failed to score in (not including that nothing goal last night) were the most disappointing for me. We should have breezed through that group after we battered Sparta and Inter didn't turn up for the whole campaign. Hull and Palace too, although I could put up with those as a 'one off, it happens'. The Europa games we consistently underperformed in all but the Sparta game and second half against Inter.
  8. Also, what was all that with the fake penalty in the first half. Ref blew and pointed right at the spot, half the ground thought he'd given it but was actually indicting for offside.
  9. It's not fair that Norwich get home advantage for the FA Cup game but rules are rules, we were aware of them before the match. We can only blame ourselves, couldn't beat HBS in either game.
  10. Just a Lidl Andros Townsend.
  11. Nothing to add really, which hasn't already been said. We've essentially failed to score in 4 out of 6 games, so we don't deserve to go through. In fact since the opening game, only our centre half has managed a goal. We are just crap at attacking. I thought Redmond would be a half decent squad player, instead we're building the f**king team around him. Austin looked adrift from the rest of the game before the injury, Long was as hopeless as ever when he came on. Sims had a poor game and what happened to that player we signed from Bayern?
  12. In the 8 cup games Yoshida has played in, we conceded as many goals as we did with Fonte against Palace. Not exactly an endorsement for change IMO.
  13. Whatever people's thoughts on the Israeli government, I don't see any need to start protesting against fans at a football game. It's not going to achieve anything other than antagonising normal, everyday people who probably have very little interest in politics. In extreme cases, such as Apartheid South Africa then yes we should boycott but not for this. We're just going to end up looking ignorant and silly, trying to start a confrontation over politics we know little about.
  14. It's not really the point. The point is that he's not good enough and too old for Man Utd.
  15. Putting my opinion aside, he is a very distant second behind Virgil. He's aging, hasn't played especially well this season (not least at Old Trafford) and not a signing Mourinho and Man Utd will be aspiring too.
  16. This season I would disagree.
  17. So you're theory is that Man Utd, a club who seemingly aren't that bothered about the Europa at all, who spent a world record fee on Pogba and world record wages on Zlatan, now want to sign the 33 year old, 3rd best centre half at a midtable club. However; this deal is dependent on Fonte being available for said European games they don't give a sh*t about, indicating they aren't that bothered about playing him in the league. We're also agreeing to deliberately weaken our team (Using your logic that he should be playing every game, I don't agree with this personally) in Europe, simply to make Man Utd happy because we like bending over and being shafted by bigger clubs. What part of all that makes sense?
  18. How often do we, or any team for that matter, throw on a substitute centre half, not including injuries? Fonte plays League games, Yoshi plays Cup. We're rotating the squad, same as every other position. I don't know why people are expecting our oldest outfield player not to be rotated.
  19. True, you can't say we never gave him a chance here. In 4 years he did bugger all except for a couple of decent games against Villa and Newcastle. Didn't make much impact at Hull either.
  20. We aren't losing either of them, in January at least.
  21. Selling him in January wouldn't make sense on any level TBH. He's at an age now where I'm not really sure who would want to buy him either.
  22. You mean like coming from behind to beat Inter Milan? If only we could do that.
  23. I'm hoping Boufal being subbed off against Palace was a hint at a start for this one. I'd like to start him, Tadic and Austin.
  24. Not sure how bored you'd have to be to want to degrade yourself on national tv like that. Personally I'd take up chess or golf, rather than have 5 million people watch me eat a kangaroo anus but each to their own I guess.
  25. I don't but some people genuinely believe Utd have already agreed to sign the 33 year old, 3rd best CB at a mid table club.
