  1. What's betting City lose this, then play an absolute blinder against us next weekend.
  2. The last time we played City away on the last day of the season. Coincidentally, our previous game was a 6-1 defeat, shortly before playing Arsenal in the Cup final. Sound familiar.
  3. I just love the idea of an old man, 40 years from now sitting with a grand child on his knee. "Listen up lad, I'll tell you all about the worst Saints game I ever went to." "What happened Grandad?" "It was a 7-1 win against Aston Villa back in 2015." "That doesn't sound like a bad game." "Oh it was, not because of the result but I had to stand and wait for a whole 30 seconds whilst a man in a room looked at a video replay." "What's so bad about that Grandad?" "It completely ruined the 'flow of the game'. Ruined it I tells ya!!" "But what about every substitution ever in the history of football, don't they usually take about 30 seconds each?" "Those 30 seconds are completely different to video replay 30 seconds. You're too young to understand."
  4. Depending on other results, including Swansea's game against City this afternoon, we could finish anywhere from 5th to 8th. City vs Saints (60 points) Stoke vs Liverpool (62 points) Everton vs Spurs (61 points) Palace vs Swansea (56 points before today's game) All 1500 kick off on Sunday We have by far the best goal difference of anyone outside the top 4. IF we could pull off a win here, Liverpool would need to win at Stoke with the GD involved. Jay Rod on the bench?
  5. We've won every league game I've been to this season, 7 I think so not too many good performances against us. However I did go to the Palace Cup game and Chamakh put in the performance of his life. The kind of once a season blinder Adebayor usually plays against us. Worst... Mannone stands out for me. The week after the 8-0 he had another nightmare at home to Arsenal, adding to his list of personal howlers. Hasn't been seen in the League since. The goals conceded against Cork and Tadic were highlights. Mike Williamson was utter garbage when Newcastle came to town. Woiczek.... Woych.... Chesney? Szczec.... The Arsenal 'keeper was at fault for both their goals at St Mary's Paddy McNair got dragged off after about half an hour when Man Utd came to SMS.
  6. That was easily onside. Every fan, pundit, journalist or otherwise I've seen said it was onside. That's beside the point anyway. If it's debatable whether someone is offside, they're not offside. Like any other foul, if you can't see it you can't give it. The benefit of doubt should lie with the attacker, offside shouldn't be given just because a play-safe lino thinks it might be.
  7. I don't want to tempt fate after what happened in 2005 but I'm starting to think we might win this.
  8. Has a team ever scored 2 hat tricks by half time? I think Pires and Pennant did it just before the 2003 Cup final over the full 90.
  9. Against Sunderland it was 2-0 after 35 minutes...
  10. It's actually 5 but nobody told the lino.
  11. Went for a dump in the 11th minute. Did I miss anything?
  12. Probably looking to see if HCDAJ as back up or if he needs to be offloaded full stop. I would personally go with the latter.
  13. I'm also glad we've avoided any of these stupid button up polo style shirts with a collar. What is the point in a collar on a football shirt? We're playing sport, not going for a 'cheeky Nandos'.
  14. I like it. There are only so many variations on red and white stripes, so saying it looks like Stoke, Sunderland, Exeter, Bilbao, Red Star Belgrade, Athletico is a bit daft. I'm just glad we've avoided some of the weird monstrosities of the past There was the two kits badly sown together at the shoulders. Complete with awful, tacky, plastic flybe logo which doesn't line up with the stripes and just generally looks like it was glued on over the top of another sponsor as a last minute after thought. Then there was the gold lettering because we're being sponsored by Lotus, except we aren't, which is good because you can barely see it anyway. I've not bought a Saints kit for 3 years since our pinstripe effort in the first season back up. I may buy this one as it looks decent.
  15. I'd welcome Adkins back in a youth coaching capacity any day, sadly I think such roles are probably beneath a man of his talents.
  16. Perhaps he has gone to the marbles forum, washing machine forum or 'TSF completes my life'. Them were the days!
  17. I don't think it was me. Looking at the photos, my arse isn't that blurry.
  18. The club will also be launching the 'Players Integrated Stripes Strategy - For Local Academy Players' in the near future.
  19. Haha that was pretty good. I feared the worst after some of the embarrassing kit launches from various clubs in the past.
  20. Not been on this thread in a while, I feel as if I have missed out.
  21. Compared to Long, Delgado was a bargain.
  22. I meant I don't remember people saying he wasn't good enough (in the Champ and L1) just because he had been relegated a few times. I never thought he was Premier League class either. Green being relegated doesn't mean HCn'tDAJFU. I don't rate him that highly but he is 3.5 years younger than Kelvin and a much higher calibre IMO.
  23. You'd have to assume Green and most of the others at QPR have a relegation wage drop clause. As such we would probably only have to match wages of maybe £35-40k. Financially, if we were to sign him for near enough free, it's probably better than spending £2.2m on someone else AND their respective wages. For those talking about relegation Rob - Kelvin has been relegated with 3 different clubs and I don't remember any demands for him to be kicked out when he was Championship 'keeper of the season.
