The fat balding Suarez doing the shopping in his wellies is my hero.

Your clearly not understanding what their on about. Perhaps they could of been more pacific.

I'm in my 40s and wear the full kit to every match. Shirt, shorts, socks, boots; the whole lot. I've even got my own name and squad number printed on the back. How cool am I!

False hope? Redknapp gave up on QPR weeks ago despite what he might have told the media. Reading to destroy QPR please although I don't think it's very likely as bad as Reading have been playing.

For those worrying about relegation, after tonight's defeat for Villa we will be mathematically safe next Monday if we win and Wigan and Villa lose.
-
Trying to work out if we can be mathematically safe on Saturday. A win would put us on 42 points. Worst case scenario now is 45 points to guarantee safety but that would be with Norwich, Villa and Wigan all tied on 44 and one of them going down on GD. Wigan 31 points - beat Spurs, WBA, Swans, Arsenal - 13 points - 44 points Villa 34 points - beat Chelsea, Norwich, Sunderland - 10 points - 44 points Wigan and Villa Draw Norwich 38 points - beat West Brom, City - 6 points - 44 points Now forget Norwich, if Spurs beat Wigan then the most they can finish with is: Wigan 31 points - beat WBA, Swans, Arsenal, Villa - 12 points - 43 points Villa 34 points - beat Chelsea, Sunderland, Norwich - 9 points - 43 points So if Villa lose against Sunderland on Monday the most they can finish on is: Wigan 31 points - beat WBA, Swans, Arsenal - 10 points - 41 points Villa 34 points - beat Chelsea, Norwich - 7 points - 41 points and a draw between them on the last game of the season. So in summary, if Saints win and Wigan and Villa lose we are mathematically safe a week today.

Maybe we should rename the thread. "Saints strongest title contenders for next season now on Sky 1"

2-0 after 12 minutes. Heading for a 2 horse race at the bottom between them and Wigan.

Bit of an unfair view on him. Personally I thought he was a decent player but required a decent team to get the best out of him. Work rate was never his issue, just confidence. After Burley signed him permanently, he then dropped him in favour of BWP. I also remember Saga coming back from Aalborg and banging them in for a month or so, then he lost his confidence again. Don't forget the 2 years after he signed a permanent deal were spent in the worst Saints team for about 50 years.

Are we talking about Saints vs West Brom or the Flemming Park match?
-
Nope. Played against Sweden, Brazil and Denmark.

Sunderland away - 2 spaces in a car

Having judged the candidates in the talent show, the swimsuit round and extensive wind tunnel testing, we've chosen our final pair. Commiserations to all those who didn't make it. -
Chaplow, De Ridder, Seaborne, Martin, Hammond, Lee, Sharp, Barnard, Butters, Dickson, Forte and Frazer could all leave without even effecting the match day 18. That's 12 and I'd like to see Fox and Guly replaced with better options. Hoskins I think has been told he will be released in summer. That pretty much makes 15 players surplus to requirements.
-
Nope. Just think he hadn't recovered his fitness 100% after this virus. He couldn't just sit quietly at his desk with a Lemsip like the rest of us. You have to be flippin' fit to drag Nathan Dyer's arse around the pitch for 90 minutes.

That is based on nothing more than paranoia. It might happen but it would take a huge turn around in form and there is little quality in their side. Their only away win in 4 months was at Reading, so to expect a win at West Brom and Spuds takes a healthy imagination. Swansea at home is a possible win but Villa have been playing better recently and will be battling for their lives on the last day.
-
Can't see any reason to change the team, other than Shaw in for Fox at LB. West Brom aren't great on the road. They won at QPR, Sunderland and Wigan earlier in the year when they were bang in form. Since Boxing Day their only win was a late smash and grab at Anfield.

Well Fergie reckons it was an appalling thing to do. He told reporters, "Ivanovic could have died."
-
Doubt it. He will "leave by mutual consent," in summer and take over Cardiff in November when they're rooted to the bottom of the table.

Players who impressed you in the lower leagues who haven't progressed.

Rasiak scored for fun at Derby, then went to Spuds and was hopeless. Then came and scored for fun at Saints and went back to being hopeless again in the Prem for Bolton. -
Would have thought £15m would be the top end of his price tag if Villa go down. I'm trying to think of comparisons, we sold Crouch after we went down for £7m. I think Andy Johnson went for about £8m. £20m is world class players territory, you'd need to be pretty special to justify that kind of money. I don't think Benteke is quite that good, not yet anyway.

Niemi was one of the best 'keepers in Europe in the 03/04 season if you asked me. He had the best saves per shot on target ratio of any 'keeper in the Premiership that year. I never saw Shilton play but I don't think I've ever seen a 'keeper who Niemi was not worthy of lacing their boots.
-
If Villa go down we might have a decent shot at signing Benteke, who I think is one of the most realistic long term replacements for Lambert out there. I think Wigan look the more likely at the moment, although Villa have a horrible run in. A mixture of relegation 6 pointers and Champions League contenders.

Swansea 0-0 SAINTS // Post-Match Reaction
Lighthouse replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Actually our form since the first 10 games would have put us 7th in the League last season.
