  1. That's where you are wrong. The simple truth is they don't give a sh*t. They have no concept of boredom, having lots of space means nothing to them other than more oportunities to be eaten. All animals like fish and budgies are programmed to do is eat, sh*t and sh*g each other. They aren't happy because they have no concept of happiness. There is a reason birds and reptiles lay a clutch of 20 or so eggs every year. Because 19 of them will be killed before they reach adulthood. The great outdoors is great if your in to hill walking in the Lake District but for the rest of animal kingdom it's a daily struggle for survival against starvation, drought, extemes of weather, climate, predators and disease.
  2. You can pretty much guarantee that 99% of pets of any variety have been captive bred. If you look after them correctly, it's much better than living wild.
  3. They are expensive and need almost daily maintenance. I've thought about doing it too but I just don't have the time and effort to keep the water as good as they need. If you go for it, the rewards are stunning but be prepared to spend £30 on 1 fish and find it belly up after a week if the water ph/salt/purity/temperature isn't right.
  4. Norwich have made a dreadful start to the season. Swansea can't score and were comfortably beaten by Villa, Stoke and Everton (at home unlike us). QPR and Villa have looked pretty poor to me aswell. Sunderland have been grinding out points but haven't been anything special. Fulham have always been suspect away from home and didn't turn up to Upton Park. Yes, they are good results. If we had those results from those fixtures I'd be happy. However I wouldn't be so sure of staying up just because we'd won 3 of the easiest fixtures of the season. We could lose all 6 of them, that would only dictate how good we are. If we go to Loftus Rd and get spanked 8-0 it doesn't make West Ham's performance tonight any better. All I'm saying is our easiest fixture so far has probably been their second hardest (Villa at home) after Swansea. Making comparisons between Saints/Wham/Adkins/BFS/Cortese/Geoff Hurst/Jermaine Wright/whatever is pointless.
  5. It's a decent return but look at who they've played. Fulham, Villa and Sunderland at home. QPR, Norwich and Swansea away. You couldn't ask for 6 easier fixtures than that.
  6. Can't say either team has been all that. 8 yellow cards for Wham now. Hopefully their entire squad is suspended when we go up there in a few weeks.
  7. Robert Butthead. Has a good ring to it IMO, rolls off the tongue.
  8. If his team mates haven't given him the nickname 'Bob' I will be severely disappointed.
  9. SPOTY will be whoever the Man Utd fans fix it for this year. Forget Ennis, Farrah, Murray, Poulter, Franchitti, Simmonds and Wiggins. Phil Jones has this one in the bag.
  10. I'm trying to remember all of it, can't believe it all happened this summer. Saints promoted Euro's in Poland and Ukraine Wiggins wins TDF London hosts Olympics London host Paralympics Franchitti wins Indy 500 Murray wins US Open Button wins Belgian GP Europe wins Ryder Cup There's probably more but I can't remember.
  11. I hate golf... but wow!! That is sporting drama at its very best.
  12. I bet visiting the red light district in Yemen is a long and drawn out process.
  13. - - - - - - - - Boruc Frazer - - Yoshi - - Jos - - Clyne - - - - Davis - - - Chaplow - - - Puncheon - - Gaston - - - Lallana - - - - - - - Lambert
  14. Reading, Norwich and QPR are absolute garbage and we might well be able to add Villa and Wigan to that list as the season goes on. Saints are not, we've just been outplayed by 4 better teams and put in a naive display against Wigan. ANY other league in Europe and Everton would be in the Champions League more often than not.
  15. First goal - Davis should have been following Osman in for the rebound, Lallana left Clyne exposed 2 on 1 in the build up. Second goal - Didn't pick up the run of Mirallas at all but that was a fantastic finish from Jelavic. Third goal - Frazer in no mans land at the far post, Lallana sold himself completely.
  16. So now we're bring up the Boro game last season to use against him? Gordon Bennett, I think some of you lot are off your trolley. As if talking about sacking Adkins for hypothetical defeats isn't bad enough without dragging last season season into it. Why the last 8 games anyway, do you just want to skew the stats to make Adkins look bad?
  17. Taking Wigan out of the equation because we've never played them before and Man City because there were a bottom half team last time: Man Utd (h) - Arsenal (a) - Villa (h) - Everton (a) 2012 - LLWL - 3 points 04/05 - LDLL - 1 point 03/04 - WLDD - 5 points 02/03 - LLDL - 1 point 01/02 - LDLL - 1 point In anticipation of people saying, "yes but it's the performance today was terrible and it was too easy for Everton". We hardly played Villa off the park in 2001 when they came to St Mary's and won 3-1. Teams don't go to Man Utd and Arsenal and play badly, they make you LOOK bad because they play such good football. It's no coincidence that teams go to OT and the Emirates and look very poor every week. It's not luck, Everton aren't at the top of the table because they're been playing a team having a bad day every week. A lot of people predicted bottom half finishes yet seem to think this will involve playing excellent football and being water tight at the back every week. It's not going to be like that. We are going to lose a lot and we are going to look bad doing it.
  18. If we lose to Fulham it will be our second disappointing results of the season after Wigan. The rest, even shipping 6 at Arsenal could all be pretty much expected. I've just looked at our fixtures for the next 3 months. With the exception of Chelsea away in December they are ALL easier than 4 of the 6 games we've just played. Let's judge Adkins on the back of these 3 months of winnable fixtures and make a decision at Christmas, rather than throwing a panic because we haven't won at Goodison. Fulham, Spuds, Norwich, Geordies, Swansea, Sunderland and Reading all at home before Christmas. They are the games that will show if we're good enough to stay up, not the start of death we've just had. There are also some winnable trips to Wham, WBA, Stoke and possibly Fulham coming up too. Patience.
  19. We've played 4 of the 5 best teams in the League in our opening 6 games. 3 of those were away. Despite this we are still above some teams who have f**ked up MUCH easier fixtures. We need to sort out the defence but we are still giving top 6 teams a decent game. There is definitely something about this Saints team, which is more than I can say for Norwich, QPR and Reading at the moment.
  20. You wont get much tougher games that away to Arsenal, Everton and Man City. They're the kind of fixtures Man Utd regularly lose, so lets give Adkins a chance to sort things out before we start comparing him to Holloway.
  21. W00T for nuns on fag breaks!!
  22. They haven't even been that good, it's just sloppy defending. Bit worrying this, we've got another 6-1 on the cards here.
  23. Normal service resumed, good oh. I was getting a bit freaked out for a minute there.
  24. Oh yes!
  25. Could the front 6 possibly look a bit like: - - - JWP - - - Davis - - - - Gaston - - - Rod - - - Lallana - - - - - -Lambert I'm hoping so, I'd rather not see Rod pushed out wide again.
