  1. Reads the game so well and made some crucial interceptions tonight. Knows when to play it and when to stick it in the car park. I know a lot of people want a new CB in January and I'd tend to agree, however I wouldn't be dropping either of our current pair on current form. I was convinced that cross in from the left on about 88 minutes would be tapped in but Yoshi was there to stick it out for a throw.
  2. I thought he improved a lot second half but truth be told he was never really tested. A couple of rountine saves from difference and caught some crosses well 2nd half. I'd certainly keep him in for the next few games.
  3. Excellent performance, well done to all involved. Yoshida was imense IMO, can't really name a poor player. Boruc started understandably nervous but improved a lot second half.
  4. I can't watch this... I'm hiding behind the sofa, peeping through my fingers.
  5. Hopefully Steve can stretch Arsenal a bit. They're looking a bit too comfortable since Gaston and Lambert went off.
  6. Gaaaah. We just don't have any luck at all.
  7. Yeah, that's what I meant. Arsenal were lucky to get possesion in the build up to the free kick too with a lucky rebound in midfield.
  8. We will have to wait for alpine to turn up in order to find out.
  9. Tha's just unlucky really.
  10. Gastoooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Playing like a jellyfish at the moment.
  12. I would offer them £3m plus Davis. They haven't got a pot to p*ss in and would probably take half the £6m they're banging on about in the media.
  13. Thank f**k for that!
  14. That just means he hasn't been suspended yet, pending a hearing. Doesn't mean they have been succesful.
  15. Because they beat West Ham 1-0 at home? I don't buy that.
  16. I think you could put Hughes in that bracket and Redknapp is carrying on with his work so far. McDermott should be doing better with that Reading squad too, although it is possibly the weakest in the league.
  17. I'd take wins for Swansea, Spuds, Norwich and Utd. That Fulham win is a bummer.
  18. 4 Prem Grounds 14 in Champ 9 in League 1 6 in League 2 and Wembley
  19. In the Northam, row GG, £30. Can't make it today, my boss wont let me come and play (it's my ST). Collect outside the ground from my mate who sits next to me. Happy new year.
  20. It is possible this accident is similar to the MD80 which crashed in Little Rock, Arkansas. The crew failed to arm the speed brake during the landing checks and failed to notice it hadn't deployed upon landing. That accident was largely attributed to stress, overload and fatigue however. The pilots were at the end of a long shift and trying to land in a severe thunderstorm in which weather conditions, including wind, were changing rapidly. It would take a high level of incompetance for that to happen in normal circumstances. Arming the speed brake is part of the landing checklist in most airlines and at least one of the pilots is supposed to confirm it has indeed deployed upon landing. I think we can rule out a reverse thrust problem too. On a 3000m uncontaminated runway it shouldn't be needed at all.
  21. Would have loved to have spent NYE in Dubai this year but my plans to move out there haven't materialised yet. Instead it's a quietish night at a friends house, not drinking because I'm on call for work at 5am tomorrow. I'm not really massive on NYE although it is as good excuse as any to have a few cheerful drinks with friends and be optimistic for the new year. Even if it is just a sequencial number assigned to some random point on the Earths orbit of the Sun.
  22. If only someone had started this thread for Delgado. He'd have got fit, scored 30 goals a season, we'd have stayed up and would now be playing in the Champions League with Lowe, Poortvliet, Clifford, Walcott, Bale, Wotte and Forecast.
  23. Vnukovo has a 3000m runway, which is plenty long enough to stop a Tu204 under normal conditions. Looking at that video it wasn't really snowing so the runway was also probably clear of any serious contamination. The aircraft went off the end at considerable speed too so it wasn't even close to stopping. My guess would be he either missed the touch down markers by about 1500m (incredibly unlikely) or some serious brake or spoiler failure which the pilots failed to go around from.
  24. This one is pretty unusual even for Russia.
  25. On a scale of 1 to 10, how old are you?
