There was some good effort there but a distinct lack of quality. Davis - decent keeper James - an average League 1 standard player even now Perry - a top class head on ancient shoulders Saeijs - a decent player for us, which he'd stayed over into the Leibherr era Skacel - a very good winger and one of the few quality attacking players in the squad... So we played him LB Surman - a decent Champ and now Prem player Wotton - a good leader but he really wasn't very good. Weird to think he played for us at Wembley Euell - a complete cart horse living off his Charlton reputation. Couldn't score and put in about 5 decent performances a season. Smith - was gash Liptak - complete enigma DMG - lazy and crap. Can't believe we got £1m for him. BWP - just about Championship quality, but not for a team with any top half ambitions.

I think that selection was based largely on the visit to Highbury about 2 weeks before the final where we got battered 6-1 and Fernandes lack of covering left us horrendously exposed down the right, Pires got a hat trick if memory serves me right.

He actually looked pretty crap for large parts of it. Not his fault, he simply wasn't ready to be chucked in like that. Same with Morgan who also looked like a fish up a tree for large parts of the season. I was really annoyed that we'd signed Morgan at the time. Buying players for £1m plus when you're skint is something I'd expect the Skates to do, not us. Back to the OP, it's hard to judge a player who is parachuted into such an awful team like that. It hardly makes a defenders job easy playing behind gash like Jason Euel, (world class) Ryan Smith and Lloyd James.

Free parking Now closed because you don't own the car park and the man who does is owed a lot of money.

Violent conduct is 3 games. A professional foul is only 1

We're just lucky Adkins is able to translate our tactics into Scouse for the benefit of Rickie Lambert.

Ljungberg is old, injured and a long way past his best. Really don't see why HCDAJFU, especially when we have Holmes, Falque and De Ridder who can't even get on the bench at the mo. Weird suggestion. Don't see how his sexuality is in any way relevant. A bit like saying, 'he likes green veg apparently'

Who was that muppet who just kept playing until Arsenal scored at Highbury in the relegation season? I think the 4th offical gave about 2 minutes stoppage time, RVP scored in about the 4th and the ref even gave them another minute after that to get a winner. I can remember Wigley stabbing at his watch in disbelief from the touchline.

This just cropped up again in the lounge. Maybe we could just rename the 'Overseas' section to 'overseas and travel'.

I went in 2008 and found a street where I'm sure all the hookers were trannies. I'm just saying, if you wanted to...

Haven't got an account for Pompey Online, any chance someone could share these pics with the blue few?

I didn't know the players had a train. I think we're paying them too much.

We should at least do something. I'd hate to have another Delgado situation on our hands.

I don't think this will help in the slightest. One of the things I dislike most about Britain is the alcohol culture. I've been around a lot of European countries and most people can generally enjoy a few social drinks in moderation without overdoing it. In Britain it seems to be some kind of achievement to get incapacitated on alcohol. Take the Pompey game for example. People were off to the pubs at 8am to get the beers in before getting on the bubble. Seriously, 8am? The last thing I feel like doing at 8am is getting smashed. Personally I have 3 or 4 pints on a Saturday afternoon because I'm at the football and if I'm not I don't bother drinking. A lot of people seem to drink for the sake of drinking. I don't get "pre-drinks" either. The concept of sharing a bottle of vodka around before going on a night out so as to get hammered cheaply before heading out into town. I go out with friends to have a good time and have a few drinks whilst I'm at it. I've never gone out with the sole purpose of getting hammered. Sadly there is no real way of changing people's cultural perceptions, so I doubt any laws will change things in the near future.

So a 3 match ban would become 4 if they decide the appeal is frivolous. Sounds good to me.

Cardiff at home is the only game this season when a Saints penalty has been the decisive goal. Would move us 1 point down and Cardiff up 2 if we're assuming the rest of history is completely unaffected. FWIW Penalties this season Cardiff - home - 1-1 draw Brighton (2) - home - 3-0 win Watford - home - 4-0 win Birmingham - home - 4-1 win No penalties away from home yet.

That sort of is my basis.

I vote for Port Vale.

Slacking people, it's been over an hour since the Hammers game ended FFS! I'm guessing Hammond will start, probably instead of Morgan. I'd like Puncheon on the wing instead of Guly, not that I'm criticising Guly I just rate Puncheon better as a winger. Other than that the rest can stay the same. Would prefer to see De Ridder on the bench instead of Connolly. Or Chaplow or even Barnard, I really don't see the point in having DC in the squad with the options we've now got.

They come over here, taking jobs from our Dans.

I'll take that. Shame we couldn't get a winner, but 4 points against Wham this season is a decent result. Shame no other results really went for us, although a bore draw between Brum and Hull is pretty good. Brum struggling to score at home in their last 3 games, hopefully the sting has gone from their recent form. Only 5 games remaining against teams in the top half, although they do include trips to Leeds, Boro and Hull. We can win this. Come on Saints!! P.S. My thread was better.

Christ, my heart rate is high enough as it is.

Second successive 0-0 draw for Brum at home. Might have taken the sting out of their form a bit.
