Couldn't we just burn Millbrook instead?
-
If you sit in an odd block number buy the red shirt, if you sit in an even block buy the white. Then we have our lovely stripes back again. Simple.

Guly got 2 from midfield. Some people are getting very precious about Guly on here. Anyone who doesn't rate him is apparently clueless, yet anyone who doesn't think De Ridder is useless is also clueless. Apparently anyone who rates De Ridder only likes him because he can run around aimlessly whilst we shout 'Steve!' at him. They are 2 different players. Neither is without their faults, but both have something to offer. Guly's general build up play is good, he gets into decent possitions and knows how to finish. De Ridder is more direct, will run at players and yes he can put a decent cross in. No we wont swing them in every 5 minutes but that's not going to happen unless he is against a particularly poor LB.
-
De Ridder is quicker, has a better first touch, scores more goals from midfield and is better at tracking back (although neither is great in that regard). Neither is perfect but both have their uses. De Ridder changed the game when he came on against Ipswich and Hull last season.

Unconvinced but if Nigel rates him that'll do for me. This doesn't however prove any fan who doesn't rate him to be clueless, Strachan really rated Paul Telfer. Guly was inconsistent in the Championship so whether he can step up another level, like a glass coffin, remains to be seen.

I can't believe Pompey will be asking for a transfer fee for any of their players. Surely they need to get rid of everyone now just to stay afloat.
-
If Lowe took them over I would cry with laughter.
-
Plenty of options up front, reckon they could do quite well.

Surely that would just make a centre. -
If we're forking out an extar £1m to avoid paying maybe a 20% sell on clause in the future, we must be confident of selling him for well over £5m in a few years. I hope you're right and that the kid is THAT good.

1. We can sign Clyne now, the tribunal fee is agreed at a later date and isn't negotiated between the clubs. We got our fee for Gobern several months after he went to Udders. 2. With your Cavalier attitutude towards finances, perhaps you should try and buy Pompey. Tribunal fees aren't based on value, they're based on the cost the parent club put into developing the player. Doesn't matter if it's Gobern, Dickson or whoever the fee is pretty much the same, just over half a million normally. That's what we got for Gobern, Dickson and Best and it's likely what Palace would get if we took them to a tribunal.
-
That's bullsh*t. Why would we pay £1.5m when he can leave on a free and they'd get about £0.5m in a tribunal?

If you can say one thing from that video, it's the lad can't half shift when he wants to.

WTF? They don't need to, he's out of contract. Maybe they mean we've agreed a compensation package to avoid a tribunal. -

Puncheon has no link with Palace, whereas Butters does. It's not impossible, just less likely. It depends on the player. Butterfield is 32 and has 1 year left on his contract. Maybe he would prefer a 2 year contract and regular football at Palace, rather than being frozen out at Saints and looking for a club in 12 months. -

There's always the chance we could offer them Butters as compensation to stop it going to a tribunal. Would make sense, decent Championship RB who has a good history with Palace. Wouldn't be needed here either. -
I've been abducted and had several probes inserted about my person. Wasn't bad actually.

At this rate, the average name in our squad will be Dan Davies. -
I'd love to be at Pompey's training ground for pre-season training. 13 first team players and they're publicly trying to get rid of all of them, except 2 teenagers in Harris and Webster. Edit: Oh, and a trialist called 'Must-have-a Dumb-Buyer' You couldn't make that up.

I'd have said that was the mark of a good team, rather than just a defensive one. Last season we had a decent defensive midfield with the likes of Cork, Morgan, Dean and Chaplow all working hard and tracking back to protect our defence. We had the second best defence in the League but we were still the top goal scorers because we had a good, well balanced midfield. -

No, Brum got relegated because they couldn't score goals (lowest in the Prem when they went down). Their defence was comfortably midtable. Blackburn had several tallented players, including Dann, but were terribly managed. I'd be very happy if we got him. -
lol Rant over.

Yep. Might as well ask them to find Shergar, Lord Lucan, Iraqi WMDs and the lost city of Atlantis.

I'll take a guess at the squad being: 1. Davis 2. Richardson 3. Buttner 4. Morgan 5. Hooiveld 6. Fonte 7. Lambert 8. Cork 9. Rodriguez 10. Do Prado 11. Sharp 12. Butters 13. Fox 14. Hammond 15. 16. 17. 18. Chaplow 19. Lee 20. Lallana 21. 22. De Ridder 23. 24. Davis 25. That's my rough guess at squad, with numbers. Room for another 6 signings in there, plus there will be a couple of young players like JWP and Shaw with squad numbers.

I was sat in the Itchen North. I remember most of the ground singing, "you don't know what you're doing" when Burley put Hammill on.
