For some reason this reminds me of Tonton Moukoko from early versions of Championship Manager.

Connolly has I think one league goal in a year and a half. He's not fit and he wont bring anything to the team that Barny, Forte, Guly and Lambert don't already have between them.

Just back. Very brief summary then bed... Appaling away day. Took 7 hours to get there, no time for pub, got beat, no goals, home at 0230. Terrible first half. No composure, no determination, no interest in playing football at all. First goal dreadful. Should have been a free kick for a foul on Barnard, but that doesn't excuse our defending. Looping header going high accross the face of goal. Davis just stood there like a lemon. I thought 'oh it must be going comfortably high or wide of the goal' as he made no attempt at all to get to it. Next thing I know it's in the feckin' net. Second goal, Harding out of possition and they get a free shot from 10 yards outside the box. I thought, 'that's no problem from out there' and then for the first time EVER in the history of his whole career, Kelvin is beaten by a fairly mediocre effort low at his near post. He did make one great save, but then made one kamakazi charge out in to no mans land and got nowhere near winning the ball. Second half we improved for about 20 minutes, then seemed to lose all interest. Forte looked better when he came on. Probably our best player IMO. His runs were some of the better aspects of our play. Hammond and Stephens were passengers throughout and Guly is a f**king liability away from home. He doesn't track back, he doesn't work hard enough and he gives the ball away too often. We can't have that in the side away from home and expect to win against decent sides like Rochdale. Looks like he's trying to tackle himself half the time. We had 2 'Get out of jail free' cards with those games in hand. We've used one, I feel we may use another at the Withdean. Squeaky bum time indeed.

'Large Hard-on collider' is a great title for a porno. Might copyright that.

To get 15 points and still drop goal difference we'd need 5 wins and 2 defeats. Our goal difference would go up by at least 5 with the wins, so we'd then have to lose the other 2 games 6-0. Highly unlikely.

It's a complete dead heat for me between Fonte, Lallana and Barnard. A defender, midfielder and a striker. Just shows how good we've been accross the park. I really can't pick a winner. They all have different roles, but have all been consistently excellent at what they do. Jaidi, Davis, Hammond and Lambert have all been good in patches, but thrown in a few stinkers too.
-
What would you rather have - 2 games in hand or 0 additional points?
Lighthouse replied to Deano6's topic in The Saints
Well, the 0 points would be a lot cheaper as fans, with less risk of a heart attack, so I'll take that. -
Check the away forum, we've hatched a plan.

I've just sent Mike this message on Facebook, but Royce if you and your mate both want to come we can make it work cost wise. Would be about £10 each for fuel and £8 each to rent the people carrier. BTW, we're going to be leaving Bristol/So'ton about 12pm, so if you can't make it that early this is also pointless discussion.
-
5 of us going in a car. I'm going from Bristol and meeting the others up Chievely services (I know it adds an hour to going direct, but will save me £40 in fuel). Don't think we can fit you in the car, unless someone has a 7 seat people carrier.
-
Another reason I want to get promoted. I can go to bed half an hour early on Saturday night (Sunday morning) instead of having to sit through highlights of a complete none-event between Oldham and Rochdale, just to see 20s of Saints footage. I know NpC highlights are hardly conclusive, but it's an improvement.
-
If anyone wants to go and needs a lift, PM either myself or Justmike. We're taking a car and could use another passenger to spread the fuel cost (will be about £15-£20 each if we get 4 of us). Edit: Now taken.
-
Me neither. We need to try and win every game now, regardless of whether we're chasing Brighton, 5 points clear of Udders or 5 points behind them. Brighton have this league bought and paid for. If we catch them I will streak around Fratton on a match day.
-
Maybe, but you will have to put up with endless Brighton fans telling you it is. We've had a year of the same with Bompey (although they've been a bit quieter in recent weeks) and Reading, for some reason, in 2006. Saints are very much looking forward to the ball next season (not counting our chickens yet). It's a shame our date can't afford a limo, a dress or any champagne.
-
Quite. I never realised families in Leyton consist entirely of 19 stone adults in their 30s, either.
-
Unless I've missed something, they didn't show Saints on SSN just now. They had highlights of a complete none-event of a game between Hartlepool and Udders, but not the team who've just moved into the automatic spots. Did they show our game earlier?
-
Still a bit of Spurs left in him I see.
-
FFS why do people even bother arguing with Alpine? It's just soooooo pointless. You are never going to get anywhere, he just does it for the sake of an argument. No matter how right you are he will ALWAYS make an argument. It's like trying to persuade Osama Bin Laden to open a 50s style all American diner in Ohio. Just stick him on the ignore list and stop wasting my band width.
-
A quick peak at their squad on wiki makes for amusing reading next season. If you take away the loan players, I reckon that leaves them with: Ashdown - 30 years old Hreidarrson - 37 years old Mullins - 32 years old Webber - 29 Years old Kitson - 31 years old Ward - 21 Years old Ciftci - 19 years old Kanu - 35 years old Rocha - 32 years old Flahavan - 32 years old 10 players, 7 of them in their 30s and half of them are probably out of contract anyway (Can anyone confirm who?) God in heaven, I hope we go up. Brighton have already got their Championship slot bought and paid for. They will probably finish above Pompey and take the p*ss something rotten.
-
So we need 4 wins from 7 worst case (realistic) scenario. It sounds so easy when you put it like that, but then this is Saints... Uber squeaky bum time.
-
Why? That's a very short sighted view IMO, have you seen the other teams run ins. Posh have 3 home bankers and two fairly easy away days, Orient away being probably the toughest of the lot. Udders have 3 tough away games (Dons, Brighton and Charlton) in their last 5. I'd say Posh look good for 13 points from their last 5 games, whereas I can't see more than 8 for Udders. Now... IF we win our games in hand, that puts us 6 points clear of the Udders and 9 points clear of Posh. We would only need another win and 2 draws from our other 5 games. DELIGHTED with a draw at the Galpharm.

Brilliant result. Injury time goals from Tranmere and Huddersfield have me in dream land.
