Walsall Weather Watch / Build-up Thread - Game called off!
Lighthouse replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
A quick butchers at the top of the Championship makes for encouraging reading. QPR - 41 Leeds - 38 ---------------------------- Cardiff - 37 Swansea -37 Norwich -36 Coventry -34 ---------------------------- Just goes to show, not only is this League sh*t, so is 3/4 of the Championship. If we could only get our act together, we could be right up there and looking at promotion to the Premier League in 18 months. A big IF, but doable given patience. -

Ssssshhhhhhhh!!!!!! Some of us are trying to pretend all the other fixtures went ahead and that all 22 teams won. -

Exeter vs Wednesday is the only fixture going ahead at the moment. So much for falling behind everyone else. -

Based on the logic that we just lost to Brentford, which is therefore typical of every game after a 2 week break? -

We aren't nescessarily going to be cut adrift here, stop putting such a negative spin on it. Firstly Saints are hardly exclusive when it comes to game called off. I seem to remember when the Hartlepool game was postponed, Swindon vs Wednesday was the only League 1 fixture to go ahead all weekend. Walsall is hardly out in the wilderness. If their pitch is unplayable, there will be a lot more games called off in the next 25 hours. Secondly, people seem to be under the assumption that all 22 other teams will win their games if they go ahead. They wont and we could find ourselves maybe 2 points behind one of our rivals with 2 games in hands. Really not a bad scenario to be in. Plus these are all games which will be replayed AFTER the January transfer window. There may not be much spending, but even if we only get 2 or 3 players, we will be a lot stronger for it. Plus we have Barnard, Chaplow and Richardson all coming back from injuries, who will be all the fitter for another week's training. Chill people! -
Stupid bint. She can't even spell "recorded".

Not THE stupidest answer to a question ever.

Anyone else suffering from Man Flu at the moment? Spoke to about half a dosen people today who have all got it at the moment. Looks like there may only be women left in Britain come January.
-
I'd have them in a slightly different order 1) Liz 2) Paloma 3) Stella 4) Laura 5) Sandeesh 6) Joanna 7) Melissa - Rug muncher 8 ) Joy - I'm guessing you mean 'moose'?

There is a way to get rid of horses without burying or cremating them, but it takes a lot of flushes. I'd just leave it be TBH and let the vultures take care of it.

Why do so many people think certain players will be better against much stronger opposition? It's the same with Schneiderlin. FWIW I hope this isn't true. Personally I think Guly is crap and have seen very little from him to warrant a permanent deal. We can do much better.
-
Beattie I'm sure would be an asset in League 1. Especially as he is very much in the Lambert frame and gives us another physical option so we can drop Rickie. I see no point in keeping Guly if he isn't good enough. If you think he is good, that's you're opinion, but if you don't there's no point keeping him, even to sit on the bench. Guly has 3 goals to his name this season. A decent striker would have about 10. Maybe not a dream, but him and one of the others would definitely stand us in good stead up front.
-
Hence... In a dream world for me it would be 2 from Le Fondre, Fryatt, Beattie or Waigo. I know, "they're the past... move on... etc. etc." I'm just saying.
-
We need 2 strikers. Guly and DC can both leave IMO. Both useless for different reasons.
-
We've already got Doble.

Don't forget most benefit fraudsters are tax avoiders too. If you're claiming benefits it's a fair bet you're not paying any income tax.
-
In terms of pounds and pennys hit has a bigger impact yes. I don't condone either, but tax evasion isn't really costing anything. Tax evaders just aren't giving as much as they should do.
-
Neither probably. You just remember the previous times something similar has happened and it seems like it's happening a lot. Personally I'm neither shocked nor horrified. True it's a shocking and horrible thing to do, but there are guaranteed to be a few sick weirdos in the 60 odd million people in Britain.
-
Why the heck would Fonte have assumed Saints were going to get promoted last January? We were about 12 points off even getting into the play-offs. I'm not saying Pardew wont come in for him (although this is just the Sun making an easy transfer rumour out of Pardew transfer history) but it wont be because we didn't go up last year.
-
Having read the title and then f**k all of what you've written after, I'd say benefit fraud is worse. Tax evaders aren't contributing, but then they aren't really costing anything either. If they were dead, it would make feck all difference to the ecconomy.
