  1. It's just an unpopular regime trying to drum up support for their unpopular political ideals (I'm talking about I4UK and The Daily Mail). You cannot enforce Sharia law on the streets of Britain any more than you can enforce Jedi law.
  2. In 2003 our 'reserve' team would have been something like: Jones Telfer - Hall - Kenton - Higginbotham Tessem - Delap - Prutton - McCann Ormerod - Pahars Not good enough for the Prem, but probably stronger than our second string at the moment.
  3. Don't know why people think this affects Bart. If Kelvin were to leave, it's hardly like he'd have the GK spot all to himself. We'd only go out and sign another 'keeper, probably younger and better than the two we have now. It's not as if Kelvin is guaranteed to play just because he has a contract either. If Bart is judged to be better, he will get picked.
  4. I could have said that about a dosen times about Davis last season.
  5. Not a biography, but 'Dynamo, Defending the Honour of Kiev' by Andy Dougan was a pretty good account of a true story. Basically it's a bunch of Dynamo Kiev players taking on the Luftwaffe and several other German military teams in occupied Ukraine in WW2. Inspired the film 'Escape to Victory'.
  6. Got a Chevy Kalos I've had 2.5 years. It's a box on wheels, but for a 23 year old you wont get a lot better without getting soddomised by insurance companies. Will probably keep it till I'm 26 or 27 then try and get something MUCH better. Would quite like an XKR, anyone on here got/had one?
  7. Davis made quite a lot of mistakes at League 1 level last year. He was beaten at his near post an very frustrating number of times and often made a harsh of crosses. I'm not suggesting he should be burned at the stake, or that Bart is God, however the idea of dropping Davis certainly is not retarded. I'd say they are of similar ability at the moment, with Bart's kicking letting him down at times. Personally I'd give Bart a shot as I think he has the youth and therefore potential to become a lot better, whereas 34 year old Davis will not.
  8. Is it wrong that this one gives me a semi?
  9. I'd forgotten about Artem Rudnev, that would be awesome.
  10. Based on what? 5 or 6 games at the end of last season and a couple of pre-season friendlies. I can't think of any player who has had regular injury problems and then suddenly got fit and started playing 30 games a season. As such I'd avoid Davies, he just can't be relied upon to stay fit. Good player though.
  11. Gorkss would be a great signing. Would love this to be true.
  12. Brian Jones, Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and now Amy Winehouse, all died aged 27. Only 10 years left Beiber you little w*nker!!
  13. Wouldn't mind having 2007 spec. Bale, Baird, Surman, Skacel, Pele, Rasiak and Jones in the squad.
  14. Ostlund, by a whisker.
  15. Nah, he's not a mental case. Just an attention seeking chutney ferret with a thing for blue eyes.
  16. Looking at that, he's touched the upwind engine on the ground, which is unusual, normally it's the other way around. The landing gear on the upwind side is supposed to touch the ground first. This guy has the right idea, but it looks like he has just overdone it a bit. It's no big drama really, will probably have had a few structural checks after though.
  17. Hilton Sharks bay was pretty good. All in and pretty cheap. £350 for the week. If you just want a few beers by the pool it's perfect. Not much by way of watersports and not much of a beach, but there is a dive centre. Hotel is shared with quite a few Russians and Ukrainians, but they seemed a civilised bunch when I was there.
  18. I'd just like to post on this thread before it is deleted and 1976 is banned. Here is an aubergine and a salamander P.S. 1976. As you said, we are all going to die anyway, so you might as well just kill yourself now. Please don't leave a mess for someone else to clean up though. Oh, and don't do anything which is likely to affect road traffic either. Ta.
  19. Bart just edges it for me. Both have faults, but I couldn't pick a better 'keeper of the two at the moment. However Bart is young, will learn from his mistakes and improve. Kelvin is 34, if he hasn't got crosses and near post shots figured out by now, he isn't going to.
  20. There is some pretty lame stuff being posted on this thread, but I'm afraid this is the worst. Are you suggesting that ALL forms of back pain force you to sit bolt upright, or were you expecting a facial expression like there's a mouse trap on his sweaty vegtables? I remember when Lambert and Lallana got injured during pre-season last year and the "they're leaving because we didn't get promoted" threads. Please can we not have this EVERY time a player picks up a knock. P.S. If Lambert is the replacement for Carroll, the barcodes will probably murder Pardew and Ashley.
  21. Looks like she's already been cremated
  22. TBF, Skacel was a feckin good player. It's just a shame his time here coincided with some of the worst managers in our history. He was a pretty useful winger, but a distinctly average stop gap at LB.
  23. I'd have thought most people who end up with drug addictions start of taking it recreationally, then become hooked and take higher doses as a form of escapism when life gets tough. I've never taken any recreational drugs in my life, but if something tragic happened in my life, I wouldn't say to my self, "well, that's pretty sh*t, I'm off to go score some crack to make it all better". Nobody wakes up and says, "I'll get hooked on crack". They give in to peer pressure, try it, then just lose control of the habbit.
  24. Like it. Neat and simple.
  25. Yeah I do, because I've got half a brain. No matter how bad things get, I will never turn to drugs to sort it out. Drugs have never sorted anyone's problems out, so why take them. Anyway, what are all these 'pressures'? Most of it was all media attention because of... you guessed it... her drug and alcohol problems. There are thousands of people in the world with similar public exposure who don't binge their lives away. You want pressure, try getting shot at in Afghanistan.
