lol, So i wasn't the only one to think of the Vestergaard, Samson analogy. -
Saints vs Everton - Build up & Match Thread
Baird of the land replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I’d be disappointed if we don’t at least get a point. They are improved but by no means perfect. if we have aims of finishing in the top half we should be aiming to get something against the likes of Everton. -
Exactly, i would have been super annoyed if we naively handed them a chance to break away and win it.

Mohammed Salisu - Official: Signs for Monaco
Baird of the land replied to Dusic's topic in The Saints
Very curious to see if he'll play in next week's U23 game. Surely he should be getting those sort of games under his belt. -
Seems to suit Ralph's system, in that he's not someone who wants to be hugging the touchline.
-
See Donny won at Pompey and he got the assist.
-
Fab display in the 2nd half. Deserved that point. Was frustrated at the naive way we let them back in at 2-2. Nice to see us being professional after getting it back to 3-3. Walcott carries a threat. Vestergaard seems a different player. Thought Romeu was suberb.
-
Last season it might have been disallowed for that with the different interpretation.
-
Bednarek really struggling. Can't see us not conceding again unless we can do something to shut down Werner. Some nice attacking play by saints and good pressing for the goal.
-
Get rid how? Surely it's better to loan him out(getting some contribution from Crawley) rather than pay up his remaining contract in full. Personally think Hesketh been unlucky with injuries/our blocked pathway/been mucked about on loan. Hope the move works out for him and he can make the most of his talent there and build a career.

Angus Gunn - Official: Signs for Norwich
Baird of the land replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Shame we couldn’t sell Gunn. Maybe next summer. Be interesting to see if he actually plays at stoke considering Davies seems to have started the season well for them. -
I was one thinking he should have come into consideration at start of season given lack of options on wing. now we’ve got players fit, Walcott in, It’s good he’s getting a move. Hope he can make an impression and get a full time deal there. unfortunate that his development was mucked about by our succession of bad managers as he showed some bright moments. ralph clearly decided from day 1 his focus was on the next crop of youngsters.

Politics. They aren't going to push the issue given there's zero chance of it passing. The whole proposal is very suspicious, do wonder if its essentially a decoy to try & pressure for something more limited
-
Is Djenepo away on international duty?
-
Despicable plan. Hope saints have the common sense to vote against, despite being offered 20 pieces of silver.
-
A wonderful result for his 120 cap. 5 more for Shilton record.
-
Curious if anyone else in our squad will test positive if he truly has tested positive.

I'm pretty happy with left back. Vokins has performed well in his 2 senior starts. Not sure what else an academy player can do to be considered back up. We've now got 5 strikers which seems fine. Ings very clearly a class apart and would be a loss if injured but so is Vardy at Leicester etc. Right back is more of a concern. Can Valery show promise of his breakthrough season rather than the confidence drained player on view last season. Equally cover for Armstrong a concern. I voted it a good window. Diallo/Salisu seem promising but who knows until we see them whether they are lemon flavoured, so that might change my perspective.

The two year deal given to long looking worse and worse.
-
Fine with it too. Gives us additional options at a budget level in terms of cost. Could well be a very useful impact sub imo.
-
Don't mind a loan deal. Gives us alternate options on the right and upfront Would be against a permanent signing
-
I’d definitely still like to see Grujic come in, giving us proper depth in center mid.
-
Shaw reduced to hacking down their player.
-
Amazed Pogba stayed on at HT. The very definition of a player who goes missing the instant things get tough.
-
Williams link is bizarre. We don't need him as we already have a young talented back up. If Utd want to develop him, surely they'd loan him somewhere he'd play, like championship.
