Watford in deep trouble now. Man city and arsenal to play. Relying on other teams doing them favors.

Really annoying equaliser by Burnley. Surely that's a high foot.

Harrison Reed - Official: Signs for Fulham
Baird of the land replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
If he stays I assume even if Ralph fancies him it would be a prerequisite to get an extension signed as we wouldn’t be willing to let him run down his contract. Reed would need assurances that with hojberg going he’d be given a fair chance to challenge for a starting berth, not be a bit part player. Personally I remember being impressed in particular when I saw him in the league cup quarter final against arsenal but he seemed to have a stamina issue back then. -
Saved our bacon in the first half too the one time they got in behind Bertrand . He’s one of the most important players in the team, vital to how we transition and as you say it showed when he was absent. Liked fact he had awareness to pick out Armstrong for the first rather than waste the opportunity with a low odds shot. His shooting’s the area he and Ralph seem to be aware he needs to work on(even if it’s increasing the amount that work the keeper) However if he was the complete goal scorer too he wouldn’t be at saints.

I’m nervous given the various levels of mess we’ve made of cb recruitment (from hoedt to, vestergaard, to danso)
-
This seems the perfect game to be having a look vokins, doubly so because of the short turnaround.
-
Who got the touch to Rashford chance that seemed destined for net. Was it Bertrand, McCarthy, a bit of both?
-
Mccarthy KWP Vestergaard Bednarek Vokins Hojberg JWP Smallbone Redmond Long Ings
-
Think obafemi has more about him. Hopefully he’s looking at the likes of long and ings and develops his all round game to make the most of his talent. Don’t mind Adams as an option unless someone offers us silly money for him in the summer.
-
Probably not a bad thing (if we are interested in signing him) that he had a lot poorer performance in a high profile game. I still like Valery and hope he can regain confidence and challenge whoever our new right back is next season.

Get in. Was frustrated that we hadn’t got the ball into the box once they went down to 10. Lovely to get a set piece goal finally. Felt we deserved something though Fernandes/Rashford/martial combo were very dangerous. United need work in midfield imo. great spirit from the team again today, would have been easy to wilt at 2-1.

Bit worried at how much we want to muck about with silly sideways passes around our area today. walkers needs hooking. Get hojberg in at fullback again. When we press their defensive we’ve caused them problems. Like to get a few more shots in if anything. Disappointed that Redmond tried to pass at the end there when the ball fell to him in space on the edge of the box. it was fun watching how disinterested Pogba b3came when saints were harrying him. Shame Adams chose the wrong end ball on the breakaway.

Walker peters having a mare of a game.

If JWP isn't a penalty then that isn't either

Not sure it was handball but thought it was probably obstruction on Reina

Yeah Mina seemed to do a mime, I assume of a fairy.

Still seems very important to how we play under Ralph. Still think he was linking up well yesterday, just the final part not quite happening. If he'd taken a couple of the chances he's worked for himself post lockdown there would be a different perception
-
Curious, normally would the team stay in North West in this sort of situation? Assuming they had to head back to Southampton in current climate?
-
I thought it was soft but then there's plenty of soft penalties given that don't earn premier league rebuke for some reason.
-
VAR works so well that the day after they can get the penalty decisions right.
-
I'm much happier with a lean squad.
-
Surely that's a foul by Fernandes if anything
-
away point to Everton isn't to be sniffed at, especially given we missed a penalty. We played well. Second half everton adapted to play like an away side against us but I still think we shaded the half. Could have done with boufal or djenepo. Don't get the point of referees and VAR. the bednarek thing is either a red or good tackle, nothing in between, Bednarek gets the ball but gets booked and they get a free kick. Var looks and decides even though he got the ball all that means is that its not a red card offence. That's garbage, lucky they didn't score from the dangerous free kick position.

Frustrating after playing so well to be 1-1. Been very enjoyable watching us slice them apart though. Ings amazing again. felt they always felt a threat going forward with richarlison, very poor defending by bednarek to make it easy for him though.
