Bemused at saints dropping off and trying to defend at 1-0. Penalty slightly harsh but we deserved it for our mentality after taking the lead.

Hojberg looks much better in this shape as do much of the team. Been excellent today. Redmond looking dangerous but needs a word to not want todo ithimself every t8me. Bertrand playing well too. However defense still looks too fragile to simple balls and Gunn is an accident waiting to happen. Not a fan of var or new handball rule but they have saved our bacon today. Huge second half coming.

Just want to see us show some organized defensive shape today. Keep it tight and stay in the game rather than hand it to opposition on a plate.

Expected 5 at the back given how wolves set up. Danso didn’t shower himself in glory so get vestergaard recall. Shocked he’s stuck with Gunn. Not sure what McCarthy has to do. Not shocked but disappointed that jwp starts.

Feels like a very big game to me. If we get at least a point out of it we can head into a tricky spell of games with a little more confidence.

Danny ings, excellent. Scored one, two decent efforts after that on pathetic service. Ralph’s response sub him. Sends a great message, play get hooked. Romeu worked his socks off. Gunn, made one save in the 2nd half. Awful for one goal, could have done better for 2 more. Time to step down to cup keeper for a bit. I really want to know if Ralph was happy minimizing the loss at 3-1, as looking on that seemed the plan of the 2nd half. Not sure how jwp played 90 minutes again. Barring the cross for ings in 2nd half it just wasn’t happening for him. Worrying times. Just fortunate through a mixture of djenpro and other teams incompetence we have 7 points on the board.

McCarthy wasn’t having best of season when dropped but I struggle to think of a non routine save Gunn has made this season. On top of that there’s the repeated atrocious errors of judgement.

On the plus side, given any kind of service ings looks dangerous. Everything else negative. Gunn atrocious Surely given our defensive issues we should be going back to basics. The second awful ball by Gunn, then bednarek cushioned header to romeu(too cute by half) given where we are. Others times we’ve got away with trying to be too cute. Annoyed me at end with 20 seconds of injury time left in the half we have a free kick and we muck about passing across our back line and are lucky to end up with a throw in Chelsea aren’t even having to do anything special to earn it.
