Came through defender’s legs and seemed to glance off Stephens back leg rather than make a clean contact. Ps that was a beautiful goal by redmond -

Started well then soaked up pressure, then should have got second. Gunn very composed again. Cedric ok, nothing special. Targett terrible defensively, looks ok going forward. Both center backs have had one dicey moment each. Otherwise ok. Though Stephens should have scored at other end. Jwp excellent. Slaterry fairly composed apart from one bad error. Redmond excellent. Mo poor Long typicallly making nuisance of himself while looking unlikely to ever score Austin, game passed him by -

Redmond has started very well at both ends. Targett already looked weak defensively. -

Hopefully he can get fully fit as he has had spells of playing extremely well. -

I expect any Italian club to loan and then back out of transfer fee. -
We can’t loan him without negotiating early payment of ings transfer fee even if we were interested which club understandably wouldn’t want to do.

Shame but at least he’s able to show Ralph what he offers in training. No doubt we’ll freshen things up but given we’ve got a week till next game I hope we’ll play a reasonably strong team It’ll be interesting to see which striker plays. Are gallagher or obafemi fit enough yet. I’d prefer it wasn’t toothless long but equally not sure I want us starting away with immobile Austin. Assume ings will be rested if he’s not 100%. -

Good that hesketh is fit. Hopefully he can impress. -
He’s hardly guaranteed first choice long term, given the investment in Gunn. Why did Begovic trade stoke for being 2nd choice at Chelsea.
-
I guess we'll be looking for a rough diamond we can try to polish. Bournemouth did that with Fraser to good effect. To be fair in hindsight Traore would have been a good impact player to have.
-
Given Klopp got only fined for running on the pitch surely Austin should get something similar.
-
Don't see the point in bringing back Wanyama as the current manager clearly rates Romeu in that role. There's other areas we need to be focusing on.

If Davis truly is off, hoping he might play some part & get proper farewell. Wonder if Klarer might come in at CB. Would be nice if Gallagher is fit enough for bench. -
I think with Ralph we’ll be fine in the league, so i’d Love an fa cup run.
-
Average would be my description of his performance which is an upgrade of targett’s poorness last game.

Yan Valery - Official: Signs for Angers

Thought he played well tonight containing hazard. Had one very nice run in the first half too. A nice bonus that he’s quite good in the air too. Could do with working on his throw ins perhaps. -
Really disciplined display. Yoshi was top drawer but whole defense did well. Valery did very well against hazard. Need Bertrand back though. Jwp showed that he can play in a 2. Going forward we got into some decent positions but fell apart too easily. Gunn the sweeper keeper impressive too. My mood would have darkened if alonso’s Cheating at the end had conned the ref.
-
I assume if there’s any basis in it the notion would be to have Lewis & Forster or a loan acting as backup. As for mccarthy’s Motivation, salary, winning medals and playing in cups.
-
Could make some sense for both parties. Liverpool get homegrown back up & unhappy mignonette gets to leave whilst we unlock funds in an area of the pitch we have already invested heavily in.
-
Cedric playing I assume because so low on options at wingback. Gunn over McCarthy is interesting. May just want to have a proper look at him. Wonder is Davis in Glasgow already.
-
Happy he’s turning it round with hull. Equally happy we’ve Ralph but would preferred him back over previous 2 managers.

Hesketh and Flannigan join Burton Albion on loan

The rest of the team looked hopelessly out of their depth that night too though. -
Football analysts are rarely there for their brains. Jamie redknapp carved a career out via his looks. Women’s football is much more high profile now so why shouldn’t they be trading on their status to get jobs in the media as much as the men.

Armstrong is the player who would drop out. He’s a decent player but he’s not a natural fit to that wide role in the current system. Ii’m very much in the give gallagher a chance camp. Got all the attributes & actually impressed in his only opportunity this season. Still annoyed we panic bought Carrillo. Let’s not do that again.

Pace out wide was what i thought would be the priority. Hopefully centre half means we think we can shift hoedt out.
