  1. So yeah, wants out then.
  2. "Naturally it’s nice to get that recognition and I suppose that will come if you play consistently in the Premier League and internationally. “But I learnt a long time ago not to get carried away with anything.” Wants out, then.
  3. I didn't say anything about this season being a disaster but that's a typical Saints fan for you, read what they want to read. It'll be a disaster in the long run if reports about top players wanting out because of his methods. It's likely we'll let them go because we always do and Puel proved this season he was unable to adequately replace the class we lost (please tell me like-for-like otherwise apart from Gabbi, who isn't a 15+ a season striker btw). It's a bleak outlook, especially if investment dwindles. That's why this appointment was so crucial. We have to stick with Puel now as we can't afford another upheaval while there are no decent, and affordable, replacements out there. But whatever, slate me for a rationalised opinion. I've supported this club decades and remember how close we were to folding and the utter dross footy that came with it pre-2009. What I don't want to see is that ever happening again. Performances on the pitch are THE crucial part for ensure it doesn't.
  4. Very much in the anti-Puel camp since before the start of the season and was lambasted for suggesting the appointment will be a disaster. People have finally woken up. HOWEVER, all I can say is be careful what you wish for.
  5. I also want to give a lot of credit to Claude Puel. The ****ing state of the team he took over in 2012... It felt like a relegation coming when the team lost Eric Mouloungui - 28 years, and 21 goals in 119 games as a striker. He was quite ****, but not as **** as Mickaël Poté or Franck Dja Djedjé or Abraham Gneki Guié or... The team literally survived just because Civelli, Pejcinovic, Ospina, and Digard created a decent defensive lineup. But the squad was so thin, I was thinking "what the ****?!" when the club sold Larrys Mabiala to a turkish relegation candidate for €500 000... But Puel came in. Started by selling Mounier and Monzon to get some cash. Cvitanich (€1,5m, **** at Ajax) scored 19 league goals in his first season. Valentin Eysseric (€1,5m) is still at the club, and a starter this spring. Timothée Kolodziejczak, Nampalys Mendy, and Eric Bauthéac for free. Alassane Pléa for €0,5m. Jean Michaël Seri for €1m. Valère Germain, Ricardo Pereira, Carlos Eduardo on loan. And at the same time being AWESOME with youth players. Several seasons in a row, Nice were by far the youngest team in the five biggest leagues. Jordan Amavi and Vincent Koziello a few examples of players he made starters. Favre is great. But. Puel deserves so much credit for the things he did for four years, with literally no money. During the 2013/2014 season, he didn't spend a single euro on transfer fees. Mendy and Bodmer for free, Brüls on loan. That was it. Over four years, he spent €11m on signing. Sold players for €30m.
  6. Trust me, we will do better next season with Puel at the helm than Marco Silva.

    Puel in

No idea why so many people are championing Silva.

    Puel in

joke thread - and could've stuck your opinion in the existing "Puel in" post.
  9. bump
  10. Smashed City at home under Poch.
  11. Amazingly he failed to score in his professional career.
  12. Redknapp's career win ratios is being shown on SSN as an info graphic. We feature with a measly 27% but the presenter is deciding not to mention it during his w**k fest.
  13. It is funny. He failed hugely at QPR. Took them down in the first season, scraped play-off promotion a year later, then buggered off when they struggled again in the Prem. They went down with a 100% away defeat record. Joke.
  14. Guys, genuine question. Where do you think we'd be if Ronald Koeman stuck around for another season? Everton have just broken into the top 5 - do you think we would have replicated that with the players at our disposal/new arrivals? Puel's done well (still not a huge fan) to get us ninth and to a cup final but it has arguably been a season of consolidation and disappointment in the Europa League. Do you think we will improve under our Claude next season with a reduced fixture list? Thoughts? PS: Happy chocolate day
  15. We will win 3-2
