  1. I said people were deluded to think we could attempt Rodgers not because of the stature of our club compared to Celtic, but because he's a Celtic fan.
  2. What was the outcome then, lad? Also, fans are deluded in thinking we can go for Brendan at Celtic. Stick with Pellegrino, we'll come good.
  3. Classic.
  4. The gift that keeps on giving. 'Sam Allardyce should be the next Southampton FC manager' http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/15653106.READER_LETTER__Saints__enough_is_enough___go_and_get_Sam_Allardyce/?ref=rss "I never thought to hear myself say this but go and get Sam Allardyce before it’s too late. At least he will steady the ship because, make no mistake, we are heading for the bottom three, with our only hope that there will be three teams worse than us at the end of the season." The above scenario is 2005 relegation all over again.
  5. I completely agree but he won't be given a chance in the Premier League. The same with Bob Bradley and other appointments considered experiments. Poch was and still is a complete one off.
  6. That's a fair assessment. What's happened to Fraser is a huge shame. He was out-of-this-world against Arsenal on NYD 2015. If he can sort himself out, we will push for mid-table. Sounds like a mediocre prospect but I don't think we can hope for much more this season.
  7. Echo reader letter. Saints are heading for relegation under Pellegrino http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/15644858.READER_LETTER__Saints_are_heading_for_relegation_under_Pellegrino/?ref=twt&cid=dlvr.it Featuring such gems as: "The team formation has been crying out for two strikers up front from the start, playing 4-4-2." "Claude Puel’s sacking was obscene to say the least. He was got rid of prematurely and I personally wish him all the success at Leicester." "Whomever was responsible for this awful manager coming in deserves to be sacked." "Boufal, Tadic, Redmond need to be put on the transfer list ASAP." What a load of laughable, reactionary b*llocks Probably why we as fans are looked upon as a whiney, ungrateful bunch. Well, maybe not to many clubs but I think some of our own fans think that about us. The football served up by Pellegrino ISN'T bad - we just can't score. Defensively, we're exceptional. Once the forward line is sorted, we'll be OK.
  8. Is this proof we've stalled and been surpassed in stature by the likes of Burnley? Or have we just regressed in international quality?
  9. “I am happy and that’s the most important thing so we will just see what happens." That's the most telling line.
  10. 100% this.
  11. Would Koeman come back?
  12. Saints will finish above Watford this season. Silva's not great. In fact, they'll struggle.
  13. Is Gary Rowett in the black box?
  14. You gotta speed it up, and then you gotta slow it down. And soon you will find that there comes a time for holding the ball up.
  15. Halloween horror show.
  16. So there's no point in a goalkeeper then?
  17. Niasse discusses here how he was treated by Koeman. Bizarre behaviour if true and feel sorry for Niasse. https://mobile.twitter.com/JM1TTY/status/922744134481440768/video/1
  18. 4-0 v Spurs in the FA Cup is one of my favourite matches, and a rare live game on BBC back in those days.
  19. 1. Now THAT is a defence. Amazing to think we had that back four just three years ago. 2. Mayuka played!
  20. Fair summary but I think the takeover process didn't help matters in getting someone in pronto.
  21. What a classy farewell message, especially to us
  22. Do you know what's also nice? The pre-match build-up, the commentary and the post-match analysis has been all about Palace. Absolutely rattled them.
  23. Sssshhh mate - the win was never in doubt. Absolutely all over them. Made more chances, looked cool defensively, what more do you want? Better than anything under Puel.
  24. Tactical masterclass - thank you MP. Please have faith in this guy.
  25. It's one of the reasons VVD wants out.
