  1. I thought we we're relegation certs. Portaloo has given us a team that can compete at this level from castoffs and youth team players. I think he's done a very good job under the circumstances. It hacks me off the way that after one bad results the headless chickens on here go bezerk. So we lost a game - get over it.
  2. IMHO both the forwards we currently have and the forwards we've sent out on loan are pants.

    Joke time.

That joke is very old and isn't very funny.
  4. I don't think that's very likely to happen really do you?
  5. Nobody wants them surprise surprise http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/7739528.stm
  6. I take your point, I just don't see that it's Wotton, Davis or Skacel or God help us Euell's age that makes them better players than others. Players can make mistakes whatever their age, and you don't have to be over twenty to know that it's sometimes a good idea to smack it into touch. Young players may be less developed than older players and therefore vulnerable to the physical game. I haven't noticed our team getting kicked of the park this season though - and that's in the supposedly physical Championship.
  7. I don't really see that age in itself is a problem - just look at what Arsenal U12's did to Wigan. Nor can I see that we have any problem closing out games as one of the good things about a young squad is that they are likely to be that little bit fitter. The problem is a lack of quality, and money of course. Drafting in more substandard carthorses ala Perry/Wotton would only make things worse IMHO.
  8. I fail to see your point. In what way does this information help us to understand what ordinary footballers earn compared to average people?
  9. It cuts both ways - loose a couple of games and suddenly we stand no chance of winning anything again ever. Beat Derby by a solitary goal and suddenly we are a team of world-beaters who are going to WTL. Football supporters generally are a bunch hysterical headless chickens and women:smt076
  10. What do all you Mystic Megs reckon now we've got four points from the first two of the five games????
  11. I like Jan and I think he's doing an excellent job in very difficult circumstances. I can't see Lowe sacking him as there really is no alternative.
  12. That has to be the most out of touch post I have ever read on here
  13. It's only ever fair to judge a manager on the resources available to him and on that basis I think Jan has done a good job and should be congratulated. I love the way that he always finds a positive - I'm sure young players need that to boost their confidence.
  14. I'd say its a long shot...
  15. Actually we are Crewe Alexandria
  16. At least he's not afraid to carry the can
  17. By 2011 we will have found his level and be playing in League 2
  18. A clear case of supporter histrionics. Win a game and Maradona is not fit to carry our kit bag - loose a couple and suddenly the day of judgement is at hand.
  19. No, Lowe thinks Lowe's knowledge of football knows no bounds.
  20. For some reason, many of the posters on this thread come across as Neanderthals who are incapable of stringing a coherent sentence together.
  21. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/i/ipswich_town/7596068.stm Ipswich very nearly signed someone on deadline day - could have been Skacel, which would explain his non involvement I guess.
