  1. Yes Barry, it is just you.
  2. It's the most ridiculous argument ever. Completely at odds with the entire foundation of our society. It is very much the starting block of a move to "guilty until proven innocent". It was basically the entire argument for Blair's continued erosion of civil liberties, and as far as i can tell the only way they tried to justify ID cards.
  3. I kept getting that from Lee Barnard. Though I like it, he seems to have my back. Could come in handy if any bouncers start getting mouthy.
  4. Lol, sensible posts like this have no place around here. Surely if there was the sort of tension that would have us worried it would have come to a head over the summer with those meetings.
  5. I like him, and do think he is a good player. Though I would worry for him. Seems the knives are already out for Osvaldo - an international forward with pretty good experience. What chance would this guy get if we were to spend £10m on him and he didn't score 10 in his first 3 games? Also, is he Rickie-esque as people are suggesting? I thought he was more of a box striker, poacher type? Kind of a massive upgrade on Sharp, nothing against BS I just think Rhodes is much better.
  6. EVERYBODY PANIC!!!!!
  7. He is far from crap and certainly not lazy. It's such an easy thing to say about a #10 that they are "lazy", but if you have actually watched him you can see he isn't. Yes, it's debatable whether he fits our system now, I'm starting to think there isn't a role for him in our style of play under MP. And yes, he hasn't delivered fully since he's been here, which is disappointing - as he is clearly a talented footballer, far from 'crap'. Despite this, he still contributed a higher combined tally of goals and assists last season than Jason Puncheon (in less games), and matched that of Adam Lallana (again in less games). I think he probably will move on sooner or later, and this move hasn't worked out for him as hoped, but this crap, lazy, lethargic stuff is just utter nonsense.
  8. Meant to post this last night but had to rush out to football before getting a chance to post. Whilst getting ready, I was listening to the Man Utd game on the radio. After Rooney's cross for the og - David Pleat said words to the effect of: "there is no-one else you would rather curl in a free-kick from that side in the EPL, except for possibly JWP who has an outstanding delivery". Made me chuckle.
  9. Or whenever we get linked with a South American you see the same people wheeling out the "I don't want another Carlos Kickball" - basically, the ones who shout loudest and know the least.
  10. How can people be saying if Morgan or Big Vic were out Cork wouldn't come in? Davis & JWP are different players, and are mostly deployed in the '3' in our 4-2-3-1 - i.e. attacking players playing off the striker. Cork is very much a '2' player, sitting in front of the defence, breaking up play and moving the ball on to our more advanced, creative players.
  11. JRod was around £6m & Lovren £8m - that's some interesting maths going on there.
  12. No no no. Don't be silly. Salmond picks which bits are 'shared assets' (i.e. the bits he wants, they'll still be able to watch Strictly too don't ya know), but the bits that are 'Scottish' they keep - i.e. the oil. It's laughable really. Would inspire absolutely no confidence in me that these people know what they are doing to set up an independent country.
  13. Roy Keane could have done with your expertise me thinks.
  14. I tried this, Ossie just runs a bit, gets confused then gives it away.
  15. Untrue bear http://www.hoax-slayer.com/giant-snake-swallows-woman.shtml
  16. Might just be the clapper in me - but I can't help but feel this is all still a continuation of the "adapting to the PL is difficult" comments that have been re-hashed to death. Haven't seen any quotes since to suggest there has been any further developments to this? Could be wrong of course.
  17. What was with the "shared assets" comments AS was making in relation to the £? If they have a share in GBP - surely the rest of the UK has a share of the oil?
  18. I don't think they would be denied EU membership - but it hardly smacks of credibility that he made this claim once, got told nah that isn't the case - and then did the exact same thing a couple of months later with the same outcome. Also, you were the one that said "but the rest is fair game provided the Scots have enough money to finance it. 5.3 million is not a lot of people, so I think it feasible." The volume argument is moot, I'd agree, but it was your argument bud
  19. I don't think it's a case of him not doing enough - more a case of we have 2 players in that position that are simply better than him.
  20. Why do you think people have been told they can't have it though mate? Possibly because it isn't feasible? The Scots, like many other Western countries face the problem of an ageing population. So care for the elderly, along with all the other stuff is going to cost an absolute packet. Maybe I'm just not as cynical as you - but I don't believe politicians want to have to say you need to pay for this, you can't have this. "Tories this, Tories that" - worth remembering a lot of the things Salmond is wanting to change were also Labour policies - increased fees, prescription charges etc. But, part of being a politician is having to make difficult decisions - you are pretty much always going to p*ss someone off. Yes, there is a smaller population, so it might not cost that much - but that also means there is a smaller number of people to pay for it. Basically, to me it all just seems pretty fantastical - making lots of promises he will never be able to deliver. It's more of a manifesto than an actual proposal of how the country will look. It's silly really, he isn't answering real questions about how the country will be run at all. He is making claims he can't back up, I see he still stuck to his "we will automatically be in the EU" line, despite previously being told that wouldn't be the case, only for the EU to come out again yesterday and say this still isn't the case. He's also trivialising the whole thing - "oh don't worry, you can still watch Strictly" - get a grip ffs. I have faith in people's intelligence to see through it. If people want an independent Scotland fair enough (again, I don't want our Scottish brothers and sisters to leave the union), but this really isn't a strong case for it. I completely disagree with you Pap - this is far from a blinder in my opinion.
  21. Saw this posted on another thread, it is indeed a good summary. It's a shame, but it is increasingly looking like this just isn't going to work out for either party.
  22. Surely anyone can see he can't deliver though? So how is that playing a blinder? I could run for Westminster and promise everyone they will never have to work, or pay taxes again - and that everything will be free. Fact is it won't happen. It might fool a few dreamers, but it won't get you anywhere - and it isn't playing a blinder. Clearly, above is a bit of hyperbole - but promising what you can't deliver will come back and bite you on the backside. People (like you with the tories) will remember. Actually, does anyone really think he can deliver everything he promises?
  23. Finally started reading your posts Bazza? ...sorry, it was an open goal. Someone had to.
