Don't see how you can claim Guly was poor. In L1 when he was signed he was good - and his goals early on in the Champ were vital. I think the reason it got so much attention is that it is still very rare for sportsmen to come out as gay - although he hasn't technically as he says he still fancies girls (if anyone believes him). It's a shame that it needs to be done, as it really shouldn't matter one jot. Good on him though, and hopefully, it can help other people to feel better about coming out if they are worried about it. That said, this 'news' was about as surprising as when Rickie Martin came out.
