  1. Go read that thread. Everyone who says it might be possible recognises the need to strengthen the defence before there is any chance.
  2. Kamikaze hooiveld out in force again today
  3. Absolutely mate. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Up there with The Sopranos for me.
  4. http://audioboo.fm/boos/1310823 "it was a decision that was proved right" bout as close as it gets.

  6. I do love my beer, but recently been really getting into Red. I can just so easily sit and polish off a bottle with out even realising. It's kinda scary really. Also fond of a nice whisky or rum.
  7. Sooooooooooo happy they are back: [video=youtube;jpGtkz-449U]

  9. Love being proved right. Was banging on about what a class act Morgan was when we were in League 1, and that he was definitely a prem player in the making. Even as one of his biggest fans I didn't see him making such a big impact on the Prem in his first season. At 23, the best of Morgan is yet to come, which is really exciting. Hopefully, that best is in a Saints shirt!
  10. Ploughed through House of Cards last weekend with the gf. Absolutely brilliant show. If this is Netflix's first foray into making things themselves, they have set the bar pretty darn high.
  11. Can't see Courtois coming here. Apparently being used as leverage in a deal for Falcao. That said, I've been wrong about these things before. So I may get made to look silly again.
  12. He's got Beattie's support, make of that what you will... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22026818
  13. think he was more deserving of a place in the squad than Andy Carroll.
  14. Gives Real Madrid as an example, I thought it was common knowledge Madrid Council paid millions to Real for years? It's certainly something I have heard on several occasions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22024669
  15. Ah ok, ignore my comment then. Clearly me getting confused.
  16. Oh man, I've been lucky enough to see AF 3 times. I have a similar arrangement with my Mum, hence my love for The Jam & The Cure, they were just always on in the house when I was growing up. I got her into Arcade Fire, and was lucky enough to take her to see them with a couple of mates in Hyde Park a couple of years back. They are stunning live. First time I saw them after they released The Suburbs (Leeds Fest '10), it genuinely nearly had me in tears. Haha, I did a piece about ms. Banks a while back when I was doing a spot of music journalism. This is a great tune, she has some good stuff. It's a shame she is such an obnoxious mouthy cow, with a 'chip' the size of the Grand Canyon on her shoulder. Doesn't seem to understand that some people might not like her, or her music, so just instantly assumes it is to do with her being black & female. Her constant feuding on twitter has really put me off her.
  17. I'd go along with that.
  18. Seeing as I have disdain for most political viewpoints, right across the spectrum, my love of music would be pretty impaired if I judged it on this basis solely. For example, I love Billy Bragg. I love his passion, and the fact he has an opinion, and is so eloquent in putting that across in some really gorgeous songs. I respect him for his views, even if I do think he is completely wrong a lot of the time. Maybe it's becuase I'm a bigger person than the lefties, I can respect views I don't agree with Back to Arcade Fire, I adore them. Up there with The Cure and The Jam as my favourite ever bands. Amongst the best on the planet right now, in my opinion. They have so many incredible, moving songs. I couldn't begin trying to pick a favourite. This is probably amongst them, Sprawl II is certainly up there too. They need to get this new album out sharpish!
  19. Yeah perhaps. But I'm not talking about fan base. I'm talking about what goes through a players head when choosing who to sign for. Clearly, not being a professional footballer myself, it's just speculation. But 'top players' that want to seriously challenge for titles, trophies or be playing regular Champions League football, will in my opinion go for teams such as City, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal for these reasons. I don't think what a club has won historically is such a great consideration for players when deciding who to join. This is why I would put Liverpool (presently) one bracket below the clubs mentioned above, probably about on a par (maybe financial reasons give pool a slight edge) with Everton. Still clearly above us though.
  20. No disputing the size of the club. I just like laughing at how inept they are. I do think their pull is on the decline. I think there are a few teams now, that players may see as a more attractive option, where it may have been the reverse a few years previously. For example, Tottenham. A lot of Liverpool's 'size' comes from their past, which is brilliant, but bares little significance for current players. They are going to struggle to be playing Champions League any time soon, in my opinion, which will put them on a rung below the likes of Utd, City, Chelsea, Spurs/Arsenal. They may well struggle to hang on the Suarez this summer, if a 'big club' make a serious move for him.
  21. Like him or not, it's hard to argue with the trajectory of the club under his leadership. I seem to recall he was previously on closer to £500k p/a. Suggesting he perhaps receives bonus' for achievement. I have no problem with that. Reward success.
  22. I find the view that MP's refusal to say he will thank Adkins as a snub, and lacking in humility. Also, a lack of mention of what a poor question it is & frankly quite rude.
  23. Yeah, not sure I agree with everything. And there does seem to be some inaccuracies. But thought it was worth a read, and worth sharing. I don't think it is written by a footy journalist to be fair.
