crowd is pretty quiet for large parts for a team that is winning 3-1? ah well, this was expected facing one of the in form teams of league. felt the subs were made too late to make any effect...

IMO gazza should start, he did nothing wrong on sat that warrants dropping to the bench. if he does fck up against at everton then so be it drop him, if he plays a blinder then better still extend his run in the first team. anyway we are not likely to be keeping a clean sheet in that one, regardless of the keeper, going by recent form. boruc was brought in to fight for a spot in the starting line up, would not be good for competition should any one come in and go straight into the starting line up like he has a right to even though the current keeper has done nothing wrong. spurs spent 12m pounds on lloris and even he did not displace friedel straightaway, okay gazza is no friedel but you get the point.

everytime I hear a discussion on zonal marking it has never been positive and yet teams still use it. again today arsenal's zonal marking was brought up regarding lescotts goal. defenders become too static! the only way I can see zonal marking work is if we be less rigid about it and perhaps stick one or two players out of 'zones' to try to at least obstruct opposition from having a free run at the header

was he tearing up as he stood up to acknowledge the fans chanting his name? emotional moment

is it just me or is our rightback playing way better at left back? clyne played so much better on the left hand side, it would seem fox's days are numbered in the first 11. however im not too sure of richardson either, he seems abit nervous at times and totally miskicked the ball on one occasion and this in a game where villa barely pressured in the second half so he wasn't tested too much? anyway, hopefully this marks a huge step forward in easing our defensive frailties, i still think a RB or LB should be brought in come january. fonte and maya in the center looked solid! fonte seems to play much better with a CB partner he can trust and gain confidence from. brave of NA to drop kelvin for gazza but whether or not that is a positive change remains to be seen as gazza was barely tested in the game apart from the goal. other than that, the attack did what they have always been doing this season which is goals goals goals! our movement up front was fluid and nice to watch and scoreline could have been more if lallana had been more composed. overall, this was exactly how i thought we would perform this season, fantastic!

kelvin would have let that bent shot in

topic starter is one of the best trolls around, constantly starts threads like these and gets everyone worked up while he runs away planning his next thread.

pretty amusing reading our reactions after the thumping: sack Adkins! bring in arry! change the captain! sign Gordon! sign boruc! sign upson! get Gary Neville to coach us! analyse whatever Norwich and Swansea did last season and copy them! then again these are what the forums are for, no offense to supporters of any of the above opinions! (;

why spend 1m (a figure I keep hearing) on gazza as our second keeper if he's not ready??
-
buttner scored the third over at old trafford heh heh
-
okay seriously I really hope no one is going to defend kelvin after this
-
well it was 6-1 at highbury, we've done our part over to you arsenal

curious to know who you're referring to?

no forecast but federici instead!

I don't think that 12million could be used anywhere, it was always going to be Ramirez or nothing. it's called a marquee signing just like man utd buying rvp when they clearly needed a central midfielder more. I think in terms of general squad improvement that was all we had in terms of funds OR another theory is they clearly had funds for GR AND a couple of defenders but were just unlucky on the last day of the window. there were many reports that pointed out that NA was expecting a few more signings but that just unfortunately never managed to happen. IMO the logical thing would be to bake a perfect cake (ie. beef up defense) before putting the icing (GR) but then again we don't know who calls the shots up there

Wonderful performance today but for the lapse of concentration towards the end.. Lambert showed once again that he can more than cut it in the top league and just uses his big and towering presence to wonderful effect. He also is a clever player and always looks to pick the smaller players he can bully to challenge the ball for. Had vidic in his pocket all game. AL and Punch were extremely effective going down the flanks and cutting in. JWP and Davis both had a good game in midfield and were tireless but the player who really shone was schneiderlin, he spotted any danger and immediately cut them out. Morgan totally stopped kagawa from playing all game and almost did the same to his replacement scholes. and of course, there was also his goal, MOTM for me. Defense wise... we all know about fox, most of the time he just seems unsure and is always caught between attacking and defending. He wants to go forward but at the same time is afraid of leaving too much space behind thus he's always missing, doesn't seem too confident either. On the other hand, clyne was ok other than his two slips (?????) but seems to hold on to the ball for too long and needs to release it quicker! Fonte and Jos.... just very average i guess, i see those kind of errors every week from defenders of the other mid-low end teams. KD was poor in distributing the ball and most of the time his kicks go straight to the other team. the problem with this is that it means our defenders can't rest and have to start to worry about another attack again. also seem slow to react to the ball. anyway gazzaniga, CHDAJFU? with the front three of lambert, AL and punch playing so well today, wonder if adkins is going to break that up to fit in ramirez and mayuka. also have the problem of Jrod, this sudden surplus of attackers would mean he's going to start on the bench alot. of course there still is guly and lee as well. oh yes not to forget De ridder... i know people talk about squad depth but surely thats too many attacking players while we are lacking in defense? wouldn't want them starting to grow unhappy and affecting the harmony...

lambert and the likes of ba and cisse were excellent signings however I wonder if these should be credited more to the scouting team, have no idea myself to the works behind signing a player

51 points! we'll slowly start to pick up points here and there towards the jan transfer window before we go for the players we apparently missed out this window and finally our team becomes real solid and hits top form for the final stretch. btw what position would 51 get us based on last season?
-
So then, who's the final signing...

have a strong feeling it will be a loan only, what with the amount we have spent this window (not that i'm complaining) heitinga on loan? -
Joe Regan @JoeRegan8 If Southampton sign Gaston Ramirez I will chop off my balls and feed them to the dog amidst all the excitement, lets take a moment as someone will never get to celebrate fathers day
-
not sure about this journalist but he sat in our press conference earlier. anyway i know we signed mayuka and ramirez already but can we be greedy?
-
will he, will he not? one of the most tedious transfer we have faced, he better be worth all these and bang in a couple on his debut.........
-
lol I don't even think he's allowed to transfer two times in one transfer window?
-
just a consequence of the rapid rise through two divisions I think, most of the players being replaced now were bought possibly with the intention to get out of L1 and consolidating in the Championship before making a push for premier League. However, with the impressive and unexpected back to back promotions, most of these players are just not good enough for the Premier League. I still think its evolution though as the spine of the team is still there. Anyway revolution is having a fairly decent keeper and then buying robert green and then replacing him with julio cesar in the same window, insane.
