He was poor in possession at times, but was very positive in the final 3rd to try and get attempts at goal. He's probably worth starting with still, though I'd not be adverse to seeing Long take his spot and Gabbi as the striker.

I think that holding long's goal scoring record against him when we such a huge lack of goals in the squad anyway is harsh. At least when he does not score he still offers something.

I like Davis and think he still has a part to play, but surely he can't be doing what we're missing, since he's playing and we're still missing whatever it is that we're missing..

I won't boo, but I won't make excuses for his behaviour either. He's acted disgracefully and I fully expect him to continue acting like a nobber whilst he remains at the club. If he ever starts to try and repair the bridges he burnt with the club and fans, then I'll maybe think again, but until that time he can do one and I'd rather he wasn't given game time.

I'll be more than happy with Jack, Maya and Hoet being our first team centre backs this season if van Dijk wishes to continue to destroy his reputation. It'll be interesting to see how MoPe manages to keep everyone happy, should the exile return to the fold. I hope he makes him work for his spot.

Disappointing if we don't sign some goals. I think those firing blanks have been doing so for at least half a calendar year now, so I can't see that changing anytime soon.

Tip: When claiming some sort of nationality-based complaint, don't undermine your xenophobia by using players from that nation.

Without knowing the details of the contracts offered, how can you possibly state that?

Boufal. If he's had half the opportunities to perform that tadic has spurned, he'd have broken through this 'trying too hard' phase.

Easy to spout off when you've not got 50m+ of your own money tied up in the situation.

Personally I don't give a stuff how much money we spend on a player or how much we get for a player. It's all monopoly money and has no reflection on the impact a player has on a team, especially when the wages element is rarely revealed.

Don't forget AB being beaten by the opposing GK's kick out. That was pretty bad.

European competition (or lack thereof) will be an influence on the positions. Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton have that to juggle with this time around. Higher than 7th is very possible for us.
