We either 'risk' a short term signing for a decent bit of money and spend to get us back up the table so we look like a decent prospect for players to join/not leave in the summer or we sleepwalk to the end of the season and run the risk of being closer to Newcastle United than Man Utd. Interesting comment. I have often wondered why we got rid of Jason Dodd when he was coaching. He had a link to the club and played for us through thick and thin. That is the true Southampton Way. We need a little bit of that fire from people who have been through the good and bad times and it's difficult to see where that comes from at the moment, on and off the pitch. Forgive me if I'm wrong but the current board have only ever been involved on the way up, even if under the alleged crazy days of Nicola. They can't remember the really dark days so may just have become too complacent with the hype. This is what worries me more than anything. Time for leadership in more than just words.

Anyone watching the game today would have seen that Clasie was one of the best players, and not in any way the problem. With soares and Juanmi I'm inclined to agree but mainly with the view that we should have gone all out to get better players.

Nothing dimwitted about the post as the sentiment is clear and taking it to the extreme to make a point, the posts that fall into that category are the ones that imply it's a bit of banter. The views of these lads are plain and simply stupid but have a root somewhere far darker that isn't good. To ignore it suggests a slight tolerance of it. It's totally fair. Any player coming through now will have to be of the right standard, or at very least show they have the potential. If they aren't ready for how RK wants them to play, they aren't ready.
