  1. There is a perception that a player who performs below par could or should have been better prepared, coached, instructed, motivated by the manager. The fact that the player shoulders little or no responsibility these days could stem from their contract value in pounds, shillings and pence to the Club.
  2. I also see 3 wins and 2 draws out of those seven; but i don't think that will cost AP his job. My guess, and it is a just a guess, is NC will give AP until Xmas.
  3. I don't understand our pre-season strategy. Be interesting to see what pre-season games we played the last time we got off to a flyer, if records go back that far. It would neither prove nor disprove anything, but would be interesting. NB: I'm too lazy to research it.
  4. The problem is the coffin dodging Daily Mail readers living too long.
  5. Now we know NC does post on here. Welcome Nicola.
  6. We don't stand a snowballs chance in hell in hosting the World Cup in 2018, so it's all irrelevant.
  7. Just the OB trying to be BBB. Let them have their fun, bless them.
  8. We don't do irony/Sarcasm/or P1ss taking/on this site, the Evangelicals banned it.
  9. 76: in my lounge surrounded by school mates. Keegan signing: Like Pilchards, out on my paper round, delivering the Echo. Saints put sixth past Man U: Going nuts in the Milton. Last ever game at Dell: Going nuts in the Milton.
  10. So you think with a few draconian penalties this time we can do without policing next time? No of course not. Maybe the time after, or some indeterminate date in the distant future, possible but very unlikely. By which time millions would have been spent chasing a few hub-cap throwers, and a few more years of serious crime going undetected; simply to keep the 'String 'em up and flog 'em', element of society happy.
  11. When the police have eradicated, child abuse, violence in the home, drug smuggling, people trafficking, money laundering and international and domestic terrorism I would be delighted for them to crack down hard on Saints fans who went a bit OTT last season. But until they've done that this is a bloody disgraceful waste of tax payers money; which amounts to tens of thousands, when you think of police man hours, court appearances, solicitors, barristers, and the price of locking someone. Nuts. All to send a message you shouldn't shout and swear and bob up and down in the street. Sleep easy anyone involved in serious crime, the OB have bigger fish to fry.
  12. If this was a viable business option, don't you think Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal etc etc etc, would be doing it with their significantly greater muscle? No club in the world to my knowledge does this, as it's in their interest to maximize exposure, and the few hundred quid a time they can make out of an image is peanuts.
  13. Will the French aren't getting shot at, and I don't see their Freedoms or language under threat.
  14. Hmmm, another quality well balanced post. Why do you bother?
  15. I doubt it. But it would be a useful story to tell by NC to save face when he backs down as he inevitably will have do so.
  16. Has it been reported anywhere ( with some authority ) whether ML's death was as the result of long term illness or something unexpected?
  17. Well not something to set the pulses racing, but tough none the less. Apart from 'at home' not a good draw.
  18. Christ I wish they would hurry up, i want to go to bed.
  19. I'll never forget nor forgive their disrespect of a great man who gave his entire working life to Saints; so as you say, this comes as no surprise.
  20. If this is true, it's good news particularly if they're in it for the long term
  21. Err it's a forum, thats what we do. Nobody has got any input into the team selection for Saturday but we still discuss it.
  22. Sorry, i promise i won't listen to anything other than Chopin for a week. Meanwhile is it possible he could have set up a trust fund for Saints? I guess it depends whether it was sudden or expected.
  23. Also factual. Welcome back to the real world. But less impact than any number of Saints 'legends' on and off the pitch. Don't get me wrong I'm very grateful for his buying us when he did, but lets keep this in perspective. He was an owner for a very short period in our 125 year history.
  24. Is that a official Saints photo?
