  1. Listening to Benji is tedious, pointless Pollyanna
  2. Romsey Town, or Townhill Park Sports more like.
  3. I agree. Not sure of why you included the OED definition of 'rumour' though?
  4. Wrong again. Fitzhugh is not reporting NC will get rid of PArdew at xmas. He is reporting what the conversations/ gosssip was in the lounges with people who might be in a positon to know. We can then draw our own conclusions. I'm glad he takes the trouble to do so, as it's of interest to me as a Saints fan.
  5. NC could have easily ended the rumours himself by saying something along the lines of "i back the manager 100%, i think he is the best manager in the league and I will continue to back etc etc etc. Instead he he just damns AP with faint praise. Now either NC thinks by not vociferously backing AP he keeps the pressure on, which he thinks is good motivation for him; or he really is not too pleased and is looking for to replace him. Either way thanks to people like FF and the echo etc etc we can get an insight into what's going on and make up are own mind.
  6. He hasn't or at least not much.
  7. I agree, the last thing we want is people coming onto forums and commenting on anything other than 100% fact. Just imagine how unsettled the players most be now after reading those commments, some of the younger ones may even need counseling!!!! I think i can speak for all Saints fans when i say we are not in the slightest bit interested in what the chairmen may thinks of the manager, why would we, all we want to read is Henny V type rallying calls.
  8. The Southampton Style? Surely that is red and whites stripes, until some loon thought the best way to separate less able saints fans from their cash was to peddle a white shirt once worn by Peru.

    Cup Song

Up until a few years ago (10 maybe) a club the reached the FA cup final would take an afternoon off during the build up to the big game and de-camp to a local sound studio and record a 'cup song'. I don't remember us doing this in '76. Was our attempt at troubling the record charts so bad as I've blocked it from memory, or did we not take the chance to add melodious glory to footballing success ?
  10. Thanks to the the ECHO for keeping us up to date with whats going on. If we had to rely on the OS we we would still be in the dark ages

    Beer

I've heard NC has close links to the Peroni Brewery in Rome, which would make for a pleasant half-time pint.
  13. For a start only one picture portrays a Saints 'Great'. And with a bit of license a couple of those kits could be said to be red and white stripes, or stripe singular. But those were crap kits and thankfully the S.I.C.K campaign got the proper Red and White stripes back. What we have now is a white kit nobody alive ever saw us play in, a kit we soon dumped in favour of what became our traditional kit. And the reason we have it now is so the marketing department can fleece the more gullible fans.
  14. Yes football is a business but one that is totally different from any other, otherwise we would all shop around for the best deal and watch that team rather than one we 'support'. And it's a very sad day when someone can't question a policy without being penalised for it.
  15. There is a long way to go before NC descends to the depths Lowe sank. However, he's made a very good start.
  16. Nope, i don't know all the facts. But web forums the world over would be pretty bleak places if we couldn't comment without 100% knowledge of all facts. There does seem to be enough 'smoke' to suggest NC has thrown his toys out of the pram again when faced with criticism. Lets face it he has form.
  17. Yet again Cortese shows himself to be class 'A' tosser. And yet again the same old Fundamentalist übber fans, who believe that to critisise anything the club does is close to treason, defend this petty little man.
  18. Are you sure it's not Dean Harlee?

    Reading

I agree. If it was an unheard of foreign club at least there would be the appeal of the exotic. But Reading? Better off as the original poster said going down the beach (even Weston Shore)
  20. You're clearly right. I have the radio commentary on 33 rpm vinyl, and I'm sure they said it was a Mercedes. Alas i don't have a record player anymore to check it.
  21. Not that i give a flying f***, just that one word answers on a forum like this don't enhance it.
  22. Why so?
  23. Moderately inventive way of upping the ante on next seasons sponsorship. But wouldn't the sponsor free zone have been better on a Red and white striped shirt?
  24. Do try harder.
  25. Mercedes. And he couldn't drive at the time.
