It looks pants. Tradition? Nobody who has seen us play in the last 100 years would recognise that as a Saints shirt. None of the great players who have ever played for us wore anything like it. So One Nil to the marketeers over the traditionalist. Nothing to be done about it now but grin and bear it.

I love the original post, not least because it's clearly ****ed off the Evangelical wing of Saints fans, who love Saints sooooooo much they simply can't pay enough just to prove their love. Pity so many of them can't make a coherent argument in response and just resort to calling the OP a "tit" fool" etc etc etc. For what it' worth I recently watched a 3rd flight game in france and paid 1 euro entrance. Yes the standard was at least 2 leagues lower than our own third flight, but if you consider Eastleigh charge a tenner entrance, and some mugs pay it!! But some people just love to bend over and take a shafting.

I don't think Cortese is a very good manager/leader. Everything i hear about him being unapproachable, a control freak, and unable to delegate; and his falling out with the Echo, his slagging off of Saints legends and the very fact their comments upset him in the first place suggests a man not properly in control. The guy needs to wise up, listen to his best managers, learn how the English media works and lead an off field team properly.

I don't care what the shirt is as long as it's red and white stripes and black shorts.

Reading all these threads through it becomes apparent we have had some pug uglies playing for us. Which is appropriate as we also have some pretty ugly fans. I personally look like a bulldog chewing a wasp, and even frighten myself sometimes when confronted with a mirror of a morning.

David Peach, Nick Holmes, Ian Turner and Bobby Stokes from '76 could all make the starting line-up of an ugly XI In-fact the entire team on that day were pretty ugly. Just goes to show looks aren't everything.

Somebody needs to start a facebook campaign, and we all need to write to our MPs (whoever they are now) and get that bloody fisher price ball changed. For all ML billions we couldn't afford a decent graphic designer

We should be playing in red and white stripes next season. It's what we've worn for all but a few of our 125 years, and it's what all our great players from Jack Dollin (our first pro), Ted Bates, Martin Chivers, Ron Davies, Terry Paine, Mick Channon, Matthew Le Tissier, etc etc wore.

What i can't understand is NCs reaction. The medias' stock in trade is rumour and gossip from the smallest weekly rag to the newsrooms of Radio 4. Why a guy like NC who has complete control of a big football club and doing a good job with a very wealthy backer should even bother responding to comment and speculation is beyond me. I think he needs some media training himself. If he thinks this is bad just wait until we're back in the premiership.

What a waste of time. I would much rather a press that challenged institutions then just bowed to them. I support Saints; i don't need a local media that just repeats the clubs PR.
