  1. Last night you can put down to being just one of those games. We had a good first half, although Swindon defended pretty well. No doubt the Swindon dressing room at half time was full of talk about them 'weathering the storm and now it's our turn to play'. We started second half too slowly go caught out and couldn't find a way back. Games like this happens. What is more worrying is the Wycombe, Exeter, Tranmere results.
  2. I agree he has been our best threat recently, but last night he just wasn't getting a sniff so AP was probably right to shake it up a bit.
  3. Nail on head. Swindon were one of the best sides I've seen at SMS this season. And when you have a bad start and then you screw up against Wycombe, Tranmere etc etc there's no wriggle room.
  4. A good read, but Lawrie Mac's best signing deserves a thread of it's own. KK obviously was the most exciting, but arguments could be made for Dave Watson, Chris Nichol, David Peach, Phil Boyer, Peter Shilton, Ivan Golac, Peter Osgood, and Alan Ball, all for various reasons.
  5. I love the location of SMS and don't want a soulless out of town stadium like Readings. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I shall shortly be setting up a facebook group called SOSMoS, Save our St Marys Stadium.
  6. Congratulations to Herbie, but why doesn't he post on here? Somebody tell him to get his act together.
  7. What it should be is Louis Armstrong's version of 'Oh When the Saints'. I hate with a passion that bloody Queen song. What the hells it got to do with Saints in the first palce?
  8. Don't care who makes the shirts as long as its Red & White stripes.
  9. If a points penealty is empossed because the club in administration is percieved to have gained advantage over competitors, what is the FAs justification for letting the Blue Few rock all the way to Wembley in the Cup? Someone I'm sure has asked the question on this thread someone, but you'll forgive me for not reading through 20,000+ posts
  10. Anything more than plenty of shouting, cheering and jeering on the day, would be ferkin embarrassing, in fact embarrassing wouldn't be the word for it. We would be a laughing stock. Anyone who is old enough to remember the open top parade in '76 will remember what a special occasion that was. But we were a second division side who had just beaten Manchester United in what was the worlds most glamourous club knock-out competion. Doing the same after beating Carlise United in a tin-pot trophy only open to lower league clubs would be a mockery. Enjoy the day out folks, and let hope for a win; but lets keep it in perspective FFS.
  11. SouthWest Trains have laid on extra trains, five i think, but there is scheduled engineeing works which is going to add an extra 30mins minimum.
  12. What you have to do is just close your eyes and pretend it's something important. At the end of the day is supporting 11 blokes kick a ball about any more worthwhile if it's one competition than another?
  13. The level of the FA's incompetence is legend, but even those half wits must be able to say the merit of Southampton being involved in a World Cup bid. I think NC shouldn't give up on the case.
  14. If you can't read much of whats posted because its on your ignore list, and what you can you think is a joke ('joke' presumably defined as someone you don't agree with), why do you bother? I'm glad you do because i value all opinions in our broad church of a forum, not just those i agree with. So thank you for making the effort.
  15. Now that would be a good p1ss up. :drinkers: Gets my vote
  16. Yet another pointless thread moaning about people 'moaning'. Some posters need to appriciate that this is a forum to exchange views and debate, not a site for fans with an evangelical zeal to find the positive in every possable situation.
  17. I find you "utterly cringeworthy" too.
  18. Wolves maybe with the aid of parachute payments, the rest you're having a laugh. Forest still massively in debt, Leicester owned by Madric who'll soon be in gaol, and WBA who, respectably, just spend what they earn.
  19. I very much doubt it. Apart from the London games they have a tiny away following
  20. None of those you mention will go to a Premiership club, and most Championship clubs couldn't match the wages we pay. I think they will all be here next season, unless NC gets the cheque book out to buy better.
  21. The Premier League are embarrassed by Portsmyth, thats why they won't impose a points penalty on them as long as they are going down anyway, so as not to draw attention to the sporting mockery that is PFC. They desperately want the Skates to quietly disappear to the relative onsurity of the Championship and not sully their shining competition. The same with the FA Cup, they will be keeping every finger crossed that Spurs or Fulham beat them in the Semi
  22. I've been to Hull and don't want to go again.
  23. Get over yourself you big girls blouse.:smt062
  24. Tranmere fans on a wind up. But I don't think there is enough anti pompey songs at the moment.
  25. Load up on Saints to win 3-0. I've had a dream.
